JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

Nothing would make me happier than everyone enjoying, in both camps, a lower cost for health ins., on that same token, only one plan will survive, how anyone with half a head on their shoulders could think that the company would agree to a plan that is less expensive for the employees, but to a greater expense to the company, this goes against all logic. Do you think the company is going to let that happen, seriously!

Bob I think you need to stick with keeping your fingers off of live wires personally. I'll personally again place my bet that they will NOT come up to our current out of pocket costs and it will end up falling somewhere between what we currently pay and what they currently pay. And it will still be good insurance.

That's my bet.

cltrat,
No disrespect, but IMO the only way you won't be paying what we do here at AA (or close to it) is by the IAM reps refusing to sign off on a T/A. If the Association could agree on this (and I have my doubts), the Clerks of AA would overwhelmingly pass it if other areas were satisfying to the TWU membership. With that vote and you guys outnumbered, you would unfortunately be stuck with that part of the garbage we now hold.
Again rat, not being confrontational, just my opinion on how things could possibly play out.

Still sounds to me like this is a them against us contest? We're ALL in this TOGETHER.

I would be willing to bet that LUS will be pushed up a higher percentage than the percentage we are brought down.
As for US vs THEM, that's a concern you need to bring up with the Association or Executive negotiators.
Once a JCBA is presented, there will be those that feel one side or another got screwed. So yes, it does have a feel of us vs them in a sad way, how could it not. That is a by product of the Association unfortunately. Not necessarily us vs them, but the FEEL of it.

what makes you think one plan surviving ? ever thought a whole new series of plans might happen?
where you guys get better insurance and we at least even if we pay more than now have good plan options. I don't think they will agree on the IAM side of the table to simply drop to your plans

You didn't start your sentence with "but not for nothing"

What's wrong with our Ins.? I don't even think they know.

Someone gets it, as in aanotok
what I mean by only one plan, there will be no "for the AA side we have" or "for the US side we have", It will be one plan for all, none of this custom plans for every title group, just one folks.

Yes, because that fight is already fought and won by the company. You will be coming over to our insurance when? Late 2017?
Your scope is a automatic, and sorry I don't see the term "Grandfathering" used in the New American Airlines playbook.
My fight is for the 401k, and any raise in match.
Holidays, vacation, and sick time, are not that much of a priority to me as it is to others.
Bob, sometimes you post decent information, and at others you tend to talk out of your backside. One that comes to mind was your claim about the E190 not being Mainline. On the topic of scope, LUS did have one station come back from being outsourced, ATL. The language in the LUS contract sucks when it comes to getting outsourced stations back. You have to reach 91 weekly fights, which is far above the number that we lose the work. If the medical plan changes, I seriously doubt that it will take place during the calendar year. To say that LUS will move to your plan by fall, is a foolish assumption. I agree with others that paying more for a lesser plan, is a concession for the LUS people. I will be the first to say that LUS went cheap on everything that they could, but yet somehow we have a far better plan the LAA. I find it hard to belive that AA can,t negotiate a decent medical plan with over 100k people in it.,

Probably would have been worse if the TWU had filed standalone and blocked out the IAM side.

Then I guess we could have just had our way with the minority and done whatever makes us the most comfortable.

Just like there is today there will be 3 choices for all to chose from but we will all have those same 3 choices.

Small, Medium or Large.

Oh YES they do. FAR higher monthly costs and I believe we also have slightly higher deductibles as well.

If a guy wants a top of the line Family plan that we have now that's almost $600 per month coming out of his check.

Absolutely asinine that ANY of us are paying that much (Yes with a company earning Billions and possibly lower expenditures with all these new hires brought on board in the last few years)

Yes rat, I have thought of completely different plans. I don't consider it likely, I think ours might mirror the agents, I hope I'm wrong. I do agree that raising your insurance to our levels should be a non starter for the IAM side of the Association. Having said that, we all have been unionized long enough to know things can happen. Not trying to argue with you rat, I'm open to anything and will be surprised at nothing.
But back to my original comment to you, IF all AA offers is our plan or a dime or two cheaper, and IF your guys don't shoot it down on the negotiating table, our TWU members will vote yes with other enhancements to the contract, that's all I was suggesting.

Sorry that e190 is a commuter jet, and if it finds its way to DFW, it will park at the envoy gates. Why are you and other on the LUS side convinced, and I say that word strongly! Convinced beyond all belief. that LUS will not walk over to our Health plan. You say I'm foolish for even thinking such a absurd idea. Is it foolish to think that LAA has the plan now that cost AA less, even though it cost the employees more. You have the plan that you have because before we even thought of BK you the employees of LUS were not making nearly the kind of money you do now. All for you were paid diddly squat, which in turn left more money for the better plan by the company. Listen up little falla, the raises you all got, are going to cost you, in one way or another, Health Ins. is one way, the other way is scope. I say this because we have already took a hair cut, your is coming. Don't be fooled by others saying, "it won't be that bad" , from what I learned through others from the last merger, it's going to be brutal.

And one more time again. AA is self insured.
