JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

How do we know whose fault it is? That's part of what I am talking about. If the Union is dragging their feet, they are partly to blame. If the company is dragging their feet, then the Union is also partly to blame for not communicating that.

Every single time the company denies a Union request to meet for a week, the Union should communicate that.

The one thing that every single TWU member I have spoken with agrees on is that 1 or 2 weeks a month is ridiculous, and they are losing our support because of this.

Do you know anyone in MIA who thinks that 1 or 2 weeks is enough and that our Union is doing everything possible to schedule more? Do you believe this yourself?

Of course not. And there are of course times the Unions wouldn't be able to meet with the Company as well.

The IAM just had their Convention and it would have been (I'm sorry readers) ridiculous to think they would have skipped it.

So sometimes it's the Company and sometimes the Union that can't meet. But Isom is full of S to claim (To the audience) that they're ready to meet any time, any place. Pure pure BS.

Even Parker said in one Roadshow 2 weeks per month is enough. Did we all forget that comment?

I agree completely and this is why I said it is not good news. How do we go from the strong messages of the last month about the Leaders joining to this without an explanation. IMO the negotiators are fighting for a good agreement, but their lack of communication and (giving them the benefit of the doubt and using the weakest language here) their lack of resistance to talking a week a month means they are pi$$ing the support of the people who do support them away (like me believe it or not). That is what is called a waste.

Do you know what other work Harry Lombardo, Alex Garcia, Sito Pantoja, Tom Reagan and Company representatives do besides these negotiations?

Of course I'd love it if they put everything else aside and ignored it all to just concentrate on us. But that's not something any of them can or will do.

All the more reason we should help lighten their workload and be in our own little union.

Update

The NMB mediator is Linda Puchala and she was involved in our 2014 CBA. We are not in the the same situation as before. This is not being controlled by the NMB, LP may attend negotiations but will not necessarily always be there and will not be in control. I have to admit that her being asked to join doesn't look good on the surface. Obviously, members should realize that we are pushing for an industry leading contract and the company is trying not to give an industry leading contract. If there are frustrations with this process, look at the companies actions. Isom stated in the Chicago town hall that he thought we needed a mediator. Why is that? Because we are asking for an industry leading contract. We have 5 dates scheduled through the end of July. I hope this helps.

A whole 5 dates? Geez, don't wear yourselves out.

Do you mean like the one over at SWA who has been in direct negotiations with Management for 4 and a half years now with very little progress to show for that and fruitless meetings that are spaced many months apart?

Like that one?

I'm guessing he meant 5 separate meeting dates as in 5 separate weeks?

Yeah, at this rate I will be retired before they get a deal done. It's absolutely inexcusable to take a month between meetings. Ridiculous.

I agree that another month away is frustrating to say the least. But hopefully I got what P. Rez said right and they'll have 5 more sessions through July that may serve to wrap this all up and get TA's out to us?

They have to be close since the Presidents and AGC's already finished the majority of the percentage of Articles?

I won't be holding my breath. My optimism is fading fast.

Yep! I`m willing to lighten the load for the twu. Save them the headache of dealing with and representing so many work groups.

In other words, one a month away in May, and then probably two in June and two in July (or the average thereof). No, that's not much.

Nah I'm sure they'd rather keep being your service provider and make sure you don't get as crappy service as they're currently getting over there. Right now you're making around $4.00 per hour more than they are and pretty soon that's going to increase further along with some improvements to your benefits.

Again would you like to go over to work at SWA in their Maintenance department and those fruitless long in between negotiating sessions might leave you less frustrated?

I guess gaining a near 50% increase in wages since AA filed for Bankruptcy and then merged with US meant nothing at all to you? SMH.
