When these changes go into effect, Walmart’s average full-time hourly wage will be $13.38/hour. The average part-time hourly wage will be $10.58/hour.

http://money.cnn.com/2016/01/20/news/companies/walmart-pay-raise-wages/

The company said Wednesday that the second round of wage hikes in February will bring the average hourly wage to $13.38 for full-time workers and $10.58 per hour for part-timers.

Just to engage you for only a moment against my personal best judgement. You do realize I hope that "average" wages implies "average" for the entire company.

That release you posted does not specify against any staff that is not in management or higher up positions against those in sales staffing.

I doubt anyone in the entire United States in Walmart in the floor sales staff is making $30.17 per hour?

I wonder how much their truck drivers make?

You need to figure out how to convince kids that are currently stuck with Tue Wed that it's in their best interest to look into the future long term and agree that steady days off is what's best for THEM.
There is a name for that. Manipulation.

So Al just thought of something. Now you finally get the chance to really understand what it means to be in a Union. You have a heads up for what's coming your way. Not just one vote but two. And I have a feeling that second vote is more important to you than the first.

Now comes the hard part. You need to start rallying people to your cause. You need to figure out how to convince kids that are currently stuck with Tue Wed that it's in their best interest to look into the future long term and agree that steady days off is what's best for THEM.

If you try to sell it that they should be looking at it for what YOU want you're going to lose that vote.

Gaining the support of the majority in a Union is what it's all about Al. It's a collective mentality against the individual mindset.

Good luck there Brother.
Weez throughout the years I had different days off and always adapted, missed a lot of holidays and my friends were well on their way to be drunk when I showed up later but I always adapted. The younger guys here have other jobs some school so set days off better for them. If you were to have a kid in afters school you can't say well she be in Monday and Tuesday this week and Wednesday and Thursday the next.I'm telling you a large percentage of LAA will be senior and always have their choice

I'm not the guy you need to convince Al. Start talking to those kids.

Do you believe management and higher ups impact the part time average given?

I doubt they expect $30 either. I can say my coworker's husband works for a Walmart distribution center and he makes decent money with good benefits.

Cashier $7.77 - $11.43
Forklift Driver $13.19 - $24.29
Loader $11.89 - $23.51
Order Filler $12.29 - $20.47
Unloader $11.64 - $22.18

The typical Walmart Unloader At Distribution Center salary is $18. Unloader At Distribution Center salaries at Walmart can range from $15-$20.

Please quit trying to paint a false narrative of Walmart. I think we can all agree $24.29 an hour to drive a forklift is pretty good pay (and they have better vac/sick than you). In fact all of those positions had people earning over 20 an hour (that is before the coming February pay raises). If all an employee ever aspires to be is a cashier then they chose to accept the pay range. Don't ask me to feel sorry for people that make bad choices. It's bad enough I am forced to supplement their income through welfare.

You seem to forget when American Airlines had the Junior Fleet Service Clerk position that topped out at 9 dollars an hour, yet Walmart is your never ending punching bag. Maybe you need to take a break from the propaganda and actually pay attention.

I make $7.00 per hour currently more than your top example and have never worked a forklift in my life.

And the past is right where it belongs. In the past.

I'm sure he shops at WalMart wonder why he doesn't go on their forums. Seems he would have more of a vested interest being a consumer and all
