With all respect for your opinion.....i believe with the LOA once one group [LAA or LUS ] performs work currently done by the other group that triggers the cross utilization language .........which includes the protection.
I hope you are correct. A literal reading of the cross utilization agreement could support your case. My reading of it is in the historical and current context. Lets hope the literal rendering is correct insomuch that thousands of fleet service in dfw lax ord mia instantaneously just got no displacement protections. If that is true then the company really put itself in a box and its less reason for our nc to expedite talks.

Tim I believe Racer is correct. But before the Station Protection goes into effect either side has to cross utilize. I think ORD is the only station currently doing it as the Local has a "We never turn down work" philosophy.

In MIA the former President and the current President fought against it and we've never touched LUS work.

I didnt make any sense why the twu ord gave in, but i understood it slightly even though it was short sighted. But if it means them running our bags and now protect 1200 members from involuntary displacement then they look like genius'.

I thought mia laa did lus bagroom or transfer points now?

WeAA  weve been doing both metals since December 2014  and I believe a handful of stations havent done it such as BOS ATL DCA and few others until this wage bridge agreement came into effect Aug 5      Now with this all FSA will have the no lay off protection as I read it   Not sure if this is how the deal is read but thats how I see it.   Cross Utilization and no job loss   May be something like this can be applied in the JCBA???

They might be doing transfer points I believe but I don't think that would count for cross utilization? The MIA President was sticking to his guns that we weren't going to touch your work and the company never tried to give a directive to force the issue.

Robbed aren't you in a station that's been outsourced to the TWU? If so and our Union is not there, no cross utilization then.

I tend to agree with you, I think we will get a contract sooner rather than later...but not sure about end of the year. Possible? sure, Odds, 50/50.
I don't believe the wage adjustment has influenced the negotiations one way or the other in terms of speed. I still have the fear that the two sides are going to have a terrible time agreeing to some articles and that in my opinion is a huge concern.

What will convince the 50% iam side to sign unless the company is gonna be a really nice fella?

The association has been good for lus but at what point do you think twu peeps would feel exploited?

Under no other format would iam members have 50% say.

What makes you think that the company didn't have something signed to protect themselves against just that contingency of our negotiators engaging in a purposeful stall?

I just can't see any company being this generous without protecting their ass-ets.

And honestly it's hard for me to feel exploited right now. Very hard as a matter of fact.

LAA had the station outsourced  LUS did not     Its basically the IAM station if you will      and we do work both sides and have been since 2014   a number of the AA folks did come back here and have been working both sides just as well   some prefer the airbus vs md80s and 738s   I prefer the AB but do enjoy the 738 but definitely hate the md80s

I agree but the question was asked, at what point will you feel your group is exploited with the association?

Our double time will allow us to further distance from twu members in overtime as well as profit sharing.

I realize you believe a jcba may be tied to parker getting a bonus but our union leaders have made it very clear that they will stall talks prior to coughing up our scope and health care unless we get a monster of a deal from parker.

Ned said it will be years instead of months as nothing is so significant to compell management to toss us tons more. What is left is collateral damage that can be managed cost effectively.

Give me a scenerio that supports a quick jcba?

Unless our agcs sell out, lus will have to get a couple weeks vacation, several more holidays, a 401 match, shift differ and more money if we lose scope and health care. A bs agreement would b loaded with mine bombs exploading at a future date. For instance, we keep scope and health care for 2 more years then it pops.

Then it won't qualify under the cross utilization agreement because you all work under one Union and one CBA. It has to be a city that has both IAM and TWU under contract.
