And people are also voting for Donald Trump too. Just not me. Snake oil doesn't actually cure diseases.
Perhaps the diseased persons doctor isn't providing any cure or making it worse so out of desperation the patient will try anything. What do they have to lose, you know the power of suggestion

Obviously you haven't begun to realize yet that our negotiators are not interested in coming to the middle of two bankruptcy agreements.

They've stated that they've made improvements on both on about 20 articles.

If you were still in there is that what we would have to look forward to? The compromise on two bankruptcy agreements? "The middle"

Ah. My apologies. I guess they have agreed to superior language on the first 20 articles they've TA'd.

I guess we're better suited to demand superior language in an entire JCBA with the Association getting everything they want and the Company not getting anything they seek.

This would be the first CBA without compromise, just us getting all we want...even if it takes more time. The Members will just have to wait.

Copy. Thanks for setting us straight.

It really isn't fair for the membership to be waiting, especially since these are no section 6 talks, but the politics of the international IAM are similar to where the TWU was a few years ago. Sito wants to hold off on a contract until he is up for election. Implicitly, that suggest our contract will be a good one. I think it will. But waiting around months for someone's election just blows. Worst case is that IAM INTL Politics goes completely south, starting with the bloodbath convention this fall, and forces us to delay until section 6 openers. If that is the case then we may get stuck waiting for several years.

Begs the question NYer, when you say meet in the middle, AA wants Catering and ALL of the remaining Cargo. Conceding one or the other (concession) while keeping one of the two considered meeting in the middle?

I'm get more pissed at Sito and the IAM each day we don't have a T/A. How would delaying it help his cause? Are any of your videos out?

It would work if we asked for all cargo and catering work back

Who said what direction they will head in as far as what transpires for the rest of the open articles? You stated that it's always about meeting somewhere in the middle and I just informed you that you're incorrect if they have made improvements on almost all articles so far.

And the members are the ones who told our negotiators what we want when it came to those surveys we filled out. Do you think any member put down that they wanted "the middle" of either of our current agreements?

Of course not.

That sounds like a concession to me.

I'm sure they're going to ask for those two and much more. The CWA got rid of most of the vendor work in their agreement. Nothing I'd like to see more than to never see that stupid Owl logo (Eulen) anywhere near one of our aircraft.

Is Eulen TWU?

My hair dresser was out of town so I got stuck with a backup which buzz-sawed me. Looks like I may have to wait a few weeks for the hair to grow in.

As far as negotiations, it looks as if the company is negotiating as if these are non section 6 talks [they are] as opposed to section 6 and years later.

Almost all of my information is regarding the IAM's version, and they don't care. Remember, the District yielded our bylaws to the INTL, so the INTL is in control....and they simply don't care unless or until it benefits them politically. They always nab a contract at or around their election.

Hopefully, the TWU puts some pressure on the IAM to move talks forward. If the stall last until section 6 talks then we may be waiting for years.

My point, the longer we wait  for a T/A the harder on the incumbents how would delaying a TA help them? Wear a airline workers union hat  to cover your hair if your that vain and get those videos out or hide behind the laundry basket

Getting a contract ratified immediately prior to an election is politics 101. There is no election right now. There is a reason why US AIRWAYS or United contracts get TA'd or ratified in April or May, since we have a June vote.

Sito is trumping this though. There is going to be a dogfight in the International come this January, with the election in April. Politically, it makes no sense for Sito to work things out with Parker until a ratification in February or March. It's not a TWU thing, isn't even a District thing right now, but IAM international politics.

What we didn't know, at least I didn't know, was that the International would be split. Otherwise, I figured a ratification no later than November 1. Now, with the knowledge that the IAM International is split in half and will be working to secure their votes against eachother [unless this is a game of chicken and one blinks], I would think that a ta at American will be ratified no earlier than January. I still think we will get a fair deal, I mean, c'mon our company is making $6 billion a year and projecting billions more, even though we missed the peak.
