Yep and in the end of all those years and years of talks, the IAM negotiators wet the bed and brought in the lowest paying contract of the legacy airlines in section 6 while the company brought in the highest profits in history!!  So much for the mighty IAM.  Too bad we don't have any skin in the game now.  You guys got your contract! Quite the screw job if I've ever seen one.

Question:

You say they brought in the lowest paying contract in the industry? Do you know on the date of signing what your peers were being paid since I have to assume you mean BASE rates only?

How much do your peers in the industry pay for medical? (You pay less than anyone by far)

What was the Station Staffing for you since UAL was getting chopped to death I seem to recall?

Take a chill pill bro. You're getting a second bite at the apple. And if it wasn't for the merger you'd still probably be in those talks. The merger is what gave you the deal you got. And if you're former America West without the first merger you'd probably have a max rate of around $17.00 per hour right now.

A second bite at the apple on the COMPANY's terms this time...too bad so sad if you don't like them.

I really wish we could see these negotiation talks on video.  Be nice to see what so called geniuses we have speaking for us and who is really telling the truth!  But like mushrooms in the dark we only get told what they want to tell us.

True. But tell me. How was Section 6 working out for you anyway? Look around the industry right now. There are groups still stuck in Section 6 hell. Section 6 has become nothing more than a joke and everyone knows it. The UAL Mechanics just voted down a TA under Section 6 by 95% and the Stock didn't register a blip about it at all. What more news have you heard about it so far? Are they on Strike? NO. Will they ever go on Strike? NO. Do you really believe the NMB or the Government give a damn about us?

The RLA was designed to protect Interstate Commerce. Not us.

So the reality is without the merger Parker would have kept you on ice indefinitely. Your Ticker symbol was LCC. (Low cost carrier) A better symbol would have been LRGC. (Low revenue generating carrier) That's what you were before joining with AA.

So again you really should probably take a chill pill Bro. Because from where you started in this race you're already one lucky SOB.

AWA was destined to merge with a legacy carrier regardless.  Parker went after every single airline and in the end US was the fat chick at the dance and AA had no option but to join.  I don't look at "what used to be" I look forward..hint hint and plan accordingly.  I don't sell myself short and take something just because "it's better than stick in the eye."  When I was hired it was a revolving door of rampers who quit because of the low pay.  Out of 35 employees in my training class I'm the only one left.  Many want to come back but can't because it's rare for more hiring. I saw where the industry was headed and stayed because I knew it would morph in to a larger airline.  AWA joining US and AA was just one part of the puzzle, the real money maker for all airline employees was industry consolidation as a whole.  Luck has nothing to do with it, it's called personal choices and smart thinking!

Oh give me a break. AWA was "destined" to merge with a legacy carrier?????? You applied for a job for an airline and were lucky enough to have put in your application to AWA and not ValueJet or Midway or some other defunct low cost airline. You could just as easily be working for Frontiers or Spirit airline.

Yes Merlin. You stayed while those other 34 people left because you had a crystal ball that told you what was coming years later down the road. LMAO. You more than likely stayed because you lived with your parents and were too lazy to look for something else? Be honest please alright.

Look everyone. Black Magic is not a Knight. He's actually Merlin the Magician. I did love the Movie Excalibur personally. One of my favorite of all time actually. Do you remember this scene Black Magic?

More short sighted thinking again from Weaasles.  You don't know me..or my work history, education.  AWA was not my only job and still is not for the record.  It was a part time gig back then and a person could literally work 2 or 3 days a month for the benefits.  Made it an easy choice to stay.

12 months = 1 year
24 months = 2 years
36 months = 3 years

CB said your standalone talks took 3 years. He mentioned 12 months or 1 year being somewhat acceptable or seemingly ok for our talks. I think 1 year would be a little overdoing it personally and hope that at most an end of the summer celebration shouldn't be too much to ask (From both sides)

I stand behind CB and the NC. Aggressive negotiation schedule. 1 year to come to such a critical JCBA is acceptable in my book. Especially, given the history of Section 6  negotiations in this industry. May I remind everyone; a meaningful agreement will take some time. Honor, Courage and Commitment has it's rewards. I hold out hope that both the NC and the membership understand this. Let's get it right while we have the chance. PATIENCE, at this time, is crucial to our collective future. Let's give our NC the time to get things right.

No. You said you stayed because you knew that AWA was going to merge with a Large Network Carrier. You said that out of 35 individuals YOU were the only one that knew what was coming.

You stayed at AWA for one reason only. You stayed for the benefits and the couple of sheckles you made in pay.

In your wildest dreams you NEVER expected to be making $24.39 with the airline and potentially over $30.00 soon enough.

You're just a pig who fell into zzzziiiiittttt.

They're not in Section 6 and there is a motivation on the company's part to need to be just a little more expeditious then they have been so far.

You'll find it all in the SEC report I just posted.

Happy reading.

What in the World is this weird dribble. Why can't you admit that you got lucky? What's wrong with that? Do you have a need to have someone stroke your ego and tell you that you're a special Baggage Handler. Ok you're a special Baggage Handler then.

Me. I'm just a Baggage Handler.

The company didnt want to continue PMUS Section 6 negotiations after the merger was announced.

With the help of the TWU the IAM was successful in obtaining a Section 6 agreement which the IAM told the members this was a two year bridge agreement to get to JCBA negotiations.

And dont forget US was the smallest of the legacy majors.

The company could have parked Section 6 negotiations and held everyone at bay until JCBA talks started.
