Let's see just what are the qualifications for FSC.
1). Valid driver's license.................................check!
2). At least 18 years of age............................check!
3). Verifiable 10 year employment history......check!
My point being this, when I was hired in 2008 in LAS, they needed 4 bodies, 4 applied, 4 got the job, and now I'm the only one left. You seem to be some kind of conspiracy theorist, and would love to believe that tracking of applicants via software is common to all who need to hire for vacancies. Google or Amazon may in fact practice this but here at American, no such rigorous scrutiny over applicants exists to my knowledge.

4). Pass drug test...........................................maybe.
5). Pass physical..........................................doubtful.
6). Pass criminal background check...........unknown.
7). High school diploma or GED............questionable.
You might be surprised how many people cannot pass 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Not to say we are the intellectual elite, morally superior and Athenian Gods of physical proweness, but many would be excluded for any one of those reasons.
Being realistic here. What would happen if we were subject to DOT mandatory random Drug tests like other groups?
Nobody would have any concerns about that OT language change anymore, that’s for sure. Buckets of available hours.

(Employee hired after 2003 opinion useless and irrelevant)

LOL... I said it was just to get the job, not keep the job! Hell, require annual physicals (along with random drug testing) and Bob would be bidding immediately after you in a few years.
Bob no way only four qualified applicants came forward. Even in a booming economy a union FSC job at a major carrier is in demand. Plus 2008 was a rough year even the first part.

Yep just 4, in LAS, but to be fair, one guy was escorted out because he didn’t have a valid DL.Bob no way only four qualified applicants came forward. Even in a booming economy a union FSC job at a major carrier is in demand. Plus 2008 was a rough year even the first part.

Hey Bob I’m curious? So you hired in in 2008. That means by my math you only had 8 years when they increased the payscale by 3 more years. So does that mean you don’t reach TOS till 2019 or 2020?
Could that be the reason you sometimes come off as desperate for cash?
What days off do you have BTW. Tuesday, Wednesday?
2019
Friday Saturday
Well weez, it is what it is, I kinda knew the US scale was coming our way.Bob all kidding and ribbing aside, I’m sorry. I didn’t agree with our 9 year scale being extended out. You should have been Grandfathered IMO.
No excuses. It’s how Negotiations (Compromise) works.
