Apparently I already know, but I’ll check it out. Thanks

I hate you’re caught up in all the mud slinging and such that seems to be going this last few pages.Youre someone I think I’d enjoy working with.
I’m smart enough to admit I have no ideal how this will eventually turn out.
Hopefully it’s something to doesn’t create animosity between US and AA brothers and sisters long term.

History?

OK.

US Airways no longer exists.

The history at American Airlines points towards everyone being pushed into the same medical insurance.

Excuse me with this comment, lol. Did you really just write this? Are you sure you don’t want to hit that delete button?

You didn’t work for American Airlines. You worked for one subsidiary that went out of business called AMR Corporation. Your entire career was spent with them actually up until the merger.

The CEO of US Airways Doug Parker was the one who offered to shareholders the accepted business plan for the assets of AMR and chose to keep and incorporate the name “American Airlines” as it had more Global name brand recognition than the other name that could have been chosen.

Sorry if this news bursts your bubble.

Actually this is not correct. NYer, yourself or any other LAA mainline employee that was active before the transaction hasn’t had their employer change at least on paper.

LUS of course has, but still to a degree some back end support is still separate and their terms of employment are different from yours but their employer changed from USAIR to AA.

AMR Corp (now American Airlines Group Inc) is simply a parent holding company with subsidiaries, including primary operating unit American Airlines, regional affiliates such as Envoy and other related entities like American Airlines Cargo.

I know you are a sophisticated guy Weez but your business acumen is really off base here. NYers employer hasn’t changed. Yes American Airlines largely exists in name only and is being run in many ways like America West/USAIR (c)2006-2013, but American Airlines the primary business unit has been continuously active and remained a going concern.

And when the competing business plan was presented against that of the old AMR Management team led by Tom Horton the shareholders accepted the Parker and Team plan against the Horton Cornerstone Plan.

And yes still NYer and myself did work for a subsidiary of AMR Holding company that has since been renamed AAG or can even go by the ticker symbol AAL I guess. AMR though is defunct.

But it’s still semantics to the point I was making which NYer is intellligent enough to comprehend and not quibble about like you just did.

It's just like saying Northwest Airlines bought Delta Airlines, and Northwest management is running Delta in name only, but guess what the only union that survived there was the pilots union. So I guess Northwest management had the final laugh their paychecks say Delta Airlines, just like yours say American Airlines , and not USair.

https://amp.cnn.com/money/2013/02/14/news/companies/us-airways-american-airlines-merger/index.html

“Doug Parker, the CEO of US Airways, will hold the same position with the new airline, while AMR CEO Tom Horton will serve as non-executive chairman. The deal is essentially a purchase of AMR by US Airways, as US Air shareholders will receive a share in the new company for each of their US Air shares.Feb 14, 2013

Ah, the master of misinformation is back again.

Actually 72% of the equity went to AMR creditors (and residual claims for AMR shareholders which is virtually unheard of-were issued share); LCC got 28%.

So in effect when USAIR was at a then all time high valuation when the transaction was consummated and AMR was in the toilet, AMR was worth more than 2.5x that of LCC.

Don’t let the facts get in your way!

The dispatchers are still unionized as well (PAFCA).

And yet you keep saying it’s America West in another thread.

US bought AA, they kept the AA brand as it was and is a more globally recognized brand and Doug from US took over as most of upper management is from US.

History -- LAA no longer exists! LUS BOUGHT them... not the other way around!

The same Dude that ran US is running AA, and he brought most of his team with him....

Rat, remain cognizant that "Divide and Conquer" is almost as powerful contractual abrogation in BK.

I have been reading this thread for much longer than I have been posting. It is very clear that a handful of avatars along with ONE poster in particular, is attempting to perpetuate distrust, and to create an environment of doubt. This is the oldest form of DIVISION tactics known to humankind.

Dude... it's a propaganda war, and the winner will either be a united work-group, or the dividers... the battleground is your mind!

Actually neither name bought the other name since the names are just how to differentiate the products.

The owners of the two Airlines. Creditors, Shareholders decided to hand the keys to the enterprise over to Doug Parker and his team.

From there a new Board of Directors was established and eventually many of the old AMR Management team’s services were no longer required and they were released to seek out their fortunes elsewhere.

“American Airlines Group Inc. is the holding company of American Airlines and was established in Dec-2013, following the merger of AMR Corporation (American Airlines) and US Airways Group Inc. (US Airways). AMR owns 72% of the parent company, while US Airways shareholders own the remaining 28%. The company is listed on the NASDAQ Global Select Market (NASDAQ: AAL).

Airlines under the American Airlines Group operate an average of nearly 6,700 services per day to 339 destinations in 54 countries from hubs in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington DC.
