Tim I'll be 59 in may of course I have money in yhe 401 but a lot of us didnt or couldnt max it out because we thought we'd be gettng the pension also.In my case two pensions.At 59 its a little late to amass a fortune.So maybe I'll stick around till I'm 70 and use my sick and what are those they are offering 20 oji days .What MD is goi going to question a 70 year old man

If they really care so much (They don’t) they’ll give you a new Defined Benefit Pension and they’d reinstate the one they froze on us in 2012.

Vindictive? No, they are just being shrewd business negotiators. If you have been reading this thread for the last day or two, you will see definitive proof the Company prefers the 401k because it costs them LESS MONEY. They circumvent a large percentage of a negotiated benefit with the 401k.

That's why the Company took your pension away in BK to begin with. They didn't just put a bunch of possible benefits to cut on a dartboard, and a wayward dart just happened to pierce the pension card. They selected to eliminate it, because it placed a lot of money into their pocket, while leaving you struggling to make ends meet in retirement!

But multi employer plans are the most ridiculous pension plans ever since congress stopped funding the guarantees about 30 years ago. Now, the only guarantee is $34 a month.

And we have thieves in office. Steal once.....they will steal twice. Once a thief always a thief.

This might not be to popular but I would prefer the IAMPF would make it 62 of 65 beforre you can collect it would probably ease the funds pain Id rather kow that at 40 than being told my pension is being halved when Im 75

Who negotiates the Grand Lodge pension and healthcare?

Seems like a very clutch gig that doesn’t require much actual work with all the holidays the GL is closed. Why can’t the membership get the same pension as the GL?

And I guess you don't remember the asshat Company completely STEALING your pension, and then handing it over to the same US Government that lobbied to create Corporate Bankruptcy laws that made it all legal?

Besides, I thought Trump was going to fix all of this. Your party controls all three branches of Government, and the majority of States... so they are the f-ing LAW! With that in mind, there should be no way that the Union, OR the Company can EVER do anything like this again... right? So why worry?

the pension has been explained over, and over...
As far as the medical... Trump fixed that when he destroyed Obamacare --Nobody should ever have to worry about medical again...

Sorry, im not a republican, but congress has failed. It was very disappointing that President Obama changed the multi employer pension law to allow unions to ruthlessly go after retirees and slash retiree pension. And his failure to increase pbgc funding. I doubt Trump listens to martinez plea of help.

Not sure exactly what we could lose. We obviously don’t deice and we don’t have catering either but there could be a ripple effect if losing that work systemwide compels the company to align “Human Resources” where they feel it’s needed or could better support their overall numbers? Meaning bumping still could occur even if they guarantee all a job (somewhere)

But to be fair yes buyouts would smooth those numbers down depending on how many jump in to grab it.
