Quality of jobs over quantity (the IAM only cares about dues).

Speaking of which that’s nearly 6x the number of fleet personnel Alaska has systemwide (excluding McGee) which the IAM facilitated.

Is it anywhere the number of UAL amts who chose to leave AMFA?

I ran across this article yesterday and was wondering if this decision has anything to do with the recent announcement by the company wanting to get rid of catering? Is this maybe why the co. is wanting to rid of catering now that they have hired on board chefs?? Something to think about...

Swamt,
They’ve been doing this for years and it’s basically just a marketing grab and self promotion stint for the “celebrity” chefs. In practice what happens is the caterers butcher the receipes and due to the nature of heating, reheating and altitude changes the food never turns out as expected.

Old LAA did this with several chefs Stephen Pyles, Marcus Samuelson, Sam Choy among others. It’s really a gimmick and I suspect the company pays very little for their “consulting” advice as it gives them a platform to promote their personal brand and restaurant amongst high income, well traveled and sophisticated people in AA’s premium cabin on AFS/IFS services.

Swamt. I wonder though w ur article only japan Auckland n Sydney are mention as examples .LSG does vast majority but on LUS i know of a few cities its LUS caterer. But if say cities such as bwi go 738 then that effectively takes catering away as lus catering as far as i know dont touch laa metal. Its shrewed but i would not put it past DP n Gangsters to do that . Just CLT Bwi used to be strictly AB now only 4 AB n 4 or 5 738s .So if thats indicator then i can see where its headed

I see. I hope they don't try anything sneaky with catering as we all heard they are looking to cut, I think, if I read it correctly.
