that's the whole thing. you give parker the benefit of the doubt (leap of faith propaganda) and he's let us down. he doubled down with promising ILC contracts and now the company is backtracking on this. the facts & figures are right there for all to see.

i do believe that some of it is bargaining posturing and i never expected aa to give us the whole store...but they have taken a maximalist position on every article of scope & compensation.

parker's baby (the stock) is tanking and i wouldn't be surprised to read that buffet has been selling shares. the spread between dl stock and aa stock is increasing, where today dl is worth nearly double (market cap) than aa. if aa never bought back any shares, it's current market cap tells us the stock would be around $29-$30 a share.

- aa's dividend (3xs less than dl) is a joke compared to dl.

- aa flopped on fuel hedging. did mr. kerr believe that oil would eventually go down to $2 a barrel? degreed executives? captains of industry?? hedging would have provided massive income surprises the past few quarters...guys who throw bags for a living saw this clearly. is there some remorse and guilt where aa produced a video clip explaining why aa didn't hedge on fuel?

- the current company attitude could see a summer of discontent. the reliability and dependability of the operation may suffer and add further downward pressure on aa stock.

this brings us to the board of directors who may turn the screws on someone - they need to - to get sh!t done. i have no problem being held accountable for my work preformance...so should those collecting millions and looking to deny those who earn in the tens of thousands.

this is not america west and this is not us air. this is the world's largest airline.
Kerr if you recall is the same guy who stated a few months back that AA had more money than they knew what to do with...then the share buyback followed. Parker is the one who said among other things, that he would bet Wallstreet a bottle of wine (or glass) that AA's stock would be at $60 a share in the not to distant future.

yeah...parker bet an analyst and it was a bottle of wine (no comment needed).

i do share his enthusiasm about the company and stock, but if i treated myself and my family the way aa wants to treat me, we'd all starve to death while living under a bridge.

+1

It’s also not 9/12/01 or Nov. 2011.

yes, but it's also not 1951 and unions don't have the same power and influence. i sympathize with our negotiators.

the company...well, when corporate america can ghostwrite the law, this is the end product.

Irrelevant? Dude, you are non-union, and don't work for AA... Did you look at the thread title?
You have been posting for 15 years with 16.407 messages in a 'union forum', and you are not a even a member of a union?

Sito has never worked as an active employee at AA (or US) yet he is leading the IAM side of negotiations. I assume he last worked on an aircraft at TWA when Reagan was president.

Irrelevant

It's probably an advantage, at least for the IAM guys, because he has first-hand knowledge of how the other contracts are structured. The TWU is familiar with the Southwest CBA but the two airlines have very different business plans.

I've been an advocate for the airline unions to have a group similar to Airlines for America in which we could pool our resources and try to prioritize what we each try to get from the separate airlines but do it as one unit and thereby have consistency in negotiations throughout the industry.

Kev talks with reason and furthers topics...

.. Kev is one of our better posters and normally doesn't waist his time with pricks like you....

Thank you both for the kind words.

I don't disagree, but I think the teacher strikes and other direct action we've been seeing lately are the first real signs that that might be changing. An ILC for you guys wouldn't hurt, either.

That's actually not a bad idea!

Weez will make an appeal for no outsourcing on here but when it comes time to vote if it means more money for him he will sell out small stations, catering, deicing, etc.

He will still get to work on container loading equipment doing one of the least physically demanding jobs on the ramp with lots of downtime between widebody departures.

Josh
Yes yes and he will flip like a gymnast on almost any issue

Still waiting.
And you will remain waiting, as long as the provenance that you are offering is a typed election schedule that may or may not be accurate. Why would I reveal my own history to someone who I do not know, doesn't work for AA, and is not even a TWU or IAM Member? Espically, since the context was regarding a comment about the results of a particular AA/IAM memember's lost election, that I happened to partcipate in. Did YOU vote in this election?

I did... and I voted within the 770 figure.. so I have the F-ing right to comment on, it without answering to YOU!.

Dude, who are you? You're obviously great at being condescending to all but W, and you have your head so far up his ass you can't even >SPIT<. Kev is one of our better posters and normally doesn't waist his time with pricks like you.
Your God like attitude has definitely been around here before...
Everyone is "Godlike" if they aren't willing to subissivly kneel in front of the naysayers...
Maybe I should just wimper, and say... yes master...

I shoulda known you wouldn't have an actual answer. Silly me.

My guess is you've never actually ran for anything at all- it takes the courage of conviction. If you had, you'd know better than to keep trying to throw results in someone's face.

Probably just another "breakroom hero" this industry is littered with. Good luck with that.
