JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet. **New and improved 2.0 version**

no...i didn't say that any negotiator has said this trade-off is acceptable or that concession is ok.

i said your point is well taken in regards to negotiators, not tipping their hand.

if the rank & file couldn't express their thoughts here, why would anyone post?

True but they’re now into those economics and those talks could get sensitive. So sure even though “we” individually like to submit to the board what we want or what we expect, we are kind of taking it out of the hands of the people who are trying to get us as much as possible.

The TA again would NOT pass on the TWU side. The wages and Deicing loss would kill it all over the East coast, the MIA President has a problem with the Swaps and OT and wouldn’t endorse so that creates difficulties here and DFW would rally against the economics hard I’m positive.

Plus the $3000 Bonus is insulting to anyone topped out especially since the rumor was floating around for a while of X amount per year of service.

And it was just that, a rumor, taken from I think what United offered to take the deal, $205 for every year in service, and with that it passed by 96%, $3000? I'll take it, no insult taken.

200 per year thats $8000 for me actually Im cool with everyone getting the same

It did not pass by 96% Bob. It passed in the 70’s range. And that deal was a totally different offer than what AA has presented to us. It had dramatic wage improvements and extended out the life of protected work.

And you can’t take something that’s not going to be accepted anyway.

Oh and Bob you do realize that the wage in short order with only 2% per year will put us at the bottom compared to the other 3 Majors out there. And with the PS formula that’s an absolute guarantee.

I believe the NMB just did it to us. The union's update said something about "with the help of the mediator" some last minute changes were made and they decided to let the membership decide.
Another slight confusion is they are calling ours a T/A---BUT with other statements like, "they will be working hard to finalize everything to get to a T/A for a vote. So I am still asking myself is it an AIP with no endorsement from the union and NC? And how does it become a T/A if the NC does not endorse it??
Without starting an argument, it has been over 5 years, since people have had a raise, we won the scope protections, most of the back pay is there, so it comes down is it worth the rejection. I guarantee the mediator said send it out or you sit.If it passes because people are just fed up, the language is not devastating.

i suppose it could work the other way too: give maintenance what they want and outsource everything under the fsc sun.

you say one group can/may get to vote on a TA without the other group having anything. a negotiator answered the query with a riddle; don't tip anyone's hand?

we know the company knows exactly what scenario(s) can play out; otherwise, they wouldn't be paying astronomical retainers to their labor attorneys. i just hope the assoc.'s legal experts aren't the same lot that 'guided' the twu through the equity adventure.

It could work the other way, sure, but it seems the Maintenance group will have more complicated issues than Fleet.

We can talk about the Equity, but there was no other way to craft the language within the BK. It was restricted by the Trust language holding the Equity and the BK statutes, as well.

I know nothing about the United deal, but Parker said he would give that to you right now as a contract.

Yep don't look at the competition, freaking brilliant

That's a two way street as Members look towards what others have, like pay and profit sharing or things that benefit us.

Can't be unexpected for the airline or any business to do the same.

Emotion takes over sometimes except now a days its captured on video makes it hard to take back.

Actually his answer was more directed at Maintenance but there are quite a few “items” in that UAL Contract that I would jump on in a heartbeat.

Even all those Stations Tim has mentioned that have possible expiration dates still leaves them with 30 solid locations even if the Company pulled the Nuclear option on the rest of them in the future which they didn’t do when they had the chance.

I haven’t read enough on their current PT caps.

Their wages are solid, they have a better PS formula and they also have Penalty Hours and Paid Lunches.

I like their Contract personally. I expect better for ours (ILC) but they do have a good contract IMO.

Oh AND they work their Commuters too.

Weez Im on the bus with them every day and they are cocerned about the nuclear option.Nope dont want to be looking over my shoulder at that.

WAGES:

UAL is currently at $30.47 and DL is at $30.15. The Company mentions 3% over DL. (YUCK .22 cents)

But let’s do this math instead. 7% above current UAL comes out to $32.60. And remaining 7% above the Contractual raise they receive in December puts us at $33.41.

Much better numbers than Parker’s Delta obsession and I wouldn’t even care about his PS Bone.

Why? LGA is not even on the “possible” Nuclear list of places that could get bombed SIX years from now and TWO years after they start negotiating again where maybe they can get a few more on the permanent security list.

But I don’t want to get into this topic again cause usually even bringing it up starts the attack dogs nipping.

BTW I’m far from suggesting an adoption of the UAL experience (Except for taking over the commuter work)

I think the Company’s proposal to keep open all current cities is an excellent START.

Add maybe 15 more and I think that ball just got hit over the back fence?

You warned us that you were not an athlete, and just proved it.
If the ball is hit over the back fence, that would be the backstop and a foul ball.
I'm sure you mean't a Home run which would be the left, center or right field fence.
I'm sure that's what you mean't.
You have probably never owned a Baseball Racket, have you?? :)
