Kind of my point. The work currently being done is essentially a zero cost item. No reason it should even be on the table.

You can also make the argument than imsourcing more work can offset fixed costs, delivers a consistent product compared with mainline, etc.

PMDL is collaborative, friendly, demonstrates pride in working for DL

PMNW is bitter, surly, disgruntled. Hates the company; reminisces endlessly about the “good ole days” when the reality is until the day before the transaction closed they hated NWA. They aren’t at all grateful that they hit the lotto getting full DOH, enjoying real pay increases exceeding 50% since the transaction closed, cheapened PMDL seniority and now work for the strongest, most profitable and best capitalized carrier in the industry.

Again in 2008 heading into the downturn remember NW fleet a fleet of 100+ antique DC-9s some receding 35 years of age, had a low value network centered around Midwest and minimal international presence beyond AMS and NRT. DL totally should have stapled them and all PMDLers lost out.

Weez Kev should have a debt of gratitude to the PMDLers whose seniority he cheapened but also to the LLCers for the law the enabled his windfall. Had AA not acquired TWs assets no McKaskill Bond and DL would have stapled them.

The exactly same situation like AA/TW happened between Air Canada/Canadian Pacific and the Canadian Pacific employees got full DOH. It has been appealed many times in the Candadian courts and their processes but has been upheld. Explain how that’s fair?

NEGOTIATIONS: Sorry this briefing is a few days later than I normally send out. However I was waiting to get a set date on when GVPSito Pantoja would be visiting here in clt. Will speak on this below. But, I want to first address a few more things about the companies proposal they put out and answer a few questions.

1. BUYOUT: First realize the companies buyout they mention comes with stipulations. First, they want to be able to determine who and how many get the buyout. They do not want it done by seniority, or per station. While buyouts are always good for our members getting ready to retire, and while they are much deserved, our members should keep in mind that a buyout helps the company more so than it does our work group. It allows them to get rid of senior agents and replace them with new agents, or in this case, not replace them at all. That's why they want the control of who gets the buyout and where. While the union does have a buyout on the table, the company has to realize that this mostly benefits them, and we are not going to sacrifice things in our contract for years for our working members, just to get this buyout.

2. YOUNG WORKERS: Since my last email that stressed the 99 agreement, I have had several younger workers ask me why this company proposal is a bad thing for them? They weren't here in 99 and therefore have lost nothing. Here is my advice to all the younger workers who read this, or who you may talk to.
First: This is not going to be their last contract. The way things have went in the past, you hope to build and add to each contract to make things better. If the company is trying to take benefits and jobs from us when they are making record profits, what can they hope for in the next contracts?? Especially if the company isn't making the money they are today. The company will expect you to give up even more jobs and benefits. Eventually dwindling the fleet group down to where we will be in just a few locations. Again, like I stated in my last email, this is going the wrong way brothers and sisters.

Secondly: The company is coming after benefits and work. By coming after work, they in the end, will be eliminating jobs. So if the young workers hope to ever move up seniority wise from where they are today? They must fight to protect the work of today. Keeping the work, and replacing the people when they attrition out, is how you move up in seniority. This company is trying to shrink our numbers with this offer they proposed by eliminating work that we own today. We can not allow this. Bottom line, this is not an agreement that is good for any or our brothers and sisters. No matter if you are a senior agent looking for a buyout, or a junior agent looking to move up the seniority latter. Its not going to allow either to be done. All the while, taking also our insurance, and other benefits that we would never get back.

SOME QUICK FACTS FOR YOU: This company makes over a billion dollars a year on baggage fees, credit card applications, and club memberships. This is a billion dollars, not a million dollars. This is a billion dollars profit, before they sale one ticket.
The amount it cost the company to put all 30,000 plus association members on the supposedly unsustainable current LUSinsurance is 39 million a year. And that actually is a little on the high side. Is that really unsustainable with a billion dollars in profit before you sale one ticket.
Instead of the company spending that money on all of us members that deserve it, they would rather give it to their stockholders. And oh yea, they want to take an additional 15 million a year that they would save by putting all the IAM LUSagents over to the AA insurance and give that money to the stockholders also. JUST CANT HAPPEN!!

Brothers and sisters, the more I deal with this company, while its not surprising, its both amazing and sad to me. I say that because, like I said before, during our two bankruptcies that we went through with this company, our membership sacrificed soooomuch. The sacrifices that we had to make, effected not only us personally, but also our families. We hurt, along with our families. Now at a time of record profits, at a time that should be great for all of us, this company wants to still eliminate jobs and benefits from us. Its not good enough for them to make 3 billion dollars in profit this year, and take care of their employees, like they should through real leading industry contract and only make 2 billion next year in profit!!!! That just can't happen in their world. If they make 3 billion this year, they have to make more than that next year, or its a bad year for them. It truly without a doubt is a case of the more you have, the more you have to have. Or the rich get richer. It will never be enough for them. Well the time has come that we HAVE TO STAND UP AND SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I use the words HAVE TO, because I truly feel that way. WE HAVE NO CHOICE!! If we let them take from us at a time like this, we will be giving them the green light to always take from us.

WHAT CAN WE DO?? First thing we can all do, is to do everything in your power to show up to our informational meetings next Wednesday April 11th.
At this meeting will be GVP Sito Pantoja. GLR Tom Regan will also be there. The DL141 PBGC Mike Klemm will also be there. Sito and Tom are two of our 3 negotiators on the executive team. Sito is the main negotiator. It gets no higher than Sito in negotiations. This is everyones chance to hear it from the person that is over it all. I hope all of you care enough about you and your families sacrifices in the past, and all of our futures, to come and meet Sito, and let him know how much we expect to not only keep what we have today, but to build on what we have today. It will also be a time to let the executive team led by Sito know that we have their backs in whatever we have to do, and however long it takes to get a leading industry contract.
The times for the meetings are set for 12:30 - 2:30 and then 3:30 - 5:30. The meetings will be held at the legion hall where we used to hold our monthly union meetings. We will have flyers out in break rooms, and I will also send out a email this weekend with the address and times again. I believe this is a meeting that if there is any way you can attend, you need to do so. Don't be afraid to ask any and all questions you can. Put to rest any rumors you have heard that you might be concerned about. Please mark this on your calendars and look at it as a MUST ATTEND meeting. More info on this visit to come.
