Don't let UNION propaganda convince you that you don't have a good job.
Don't let LaLi convince you to settle for less...

Funny. They shut down the "comments" section of the ibt site. Wonder why?  It's a lame offer if you ask me.  A cut by 1/3 for PS. 6 yrs with only one yr at 1.5% and the remaining 4 yrs at 1.0%. Really?  This is an AIP?  They still have not provided any language changes yet either. I can't see this going to the membership for a vote...

Well, it looks weak to me. Whats good about it?  I guess the buyout is decent,100k, especially if you can roll into 401k. The vacation, holidays and sick time is run of the mill. The dos pay is in line with AA. Signing bonus is weak but more then I believe we'll see.

I guess I didn't understand their defined pension and retiree medical.

Their vacation is 35 days 7 weeks we (you) won't see that.

Correction:  The PS is cut by 2/3rds not 1/3rd. Worse than originally thought. I was corrected by a United mech. He also mentioned that the 2 year industry average adjustment clause is full of holes and only figured on co. numbers and stats. I will say the buy out is decent with 5k per year with max of 100k. That probably what it should be as an average in this industry. I have always believed that a proper buy out is 1 years salary of the prior years wages.  This is what it takes if they really want mechanics to take the buy outs.

Well, that's 2 more weeks than we get. Our NC is currently trying to get additional week as well as 5th week at 15 years instead of 18 years. This way they all fall within the industry average of every 5 years to receive additional vacation days.  The 6th week being asked for is for the 20th year.

I think our NC is dragging their feet. By the time we get our new contract the company will be going broke. The stock is continuously dropping. They threw a bone at them, so we can work on each other's metal. Now what more bs from this so called association. I've been here 26 years and it is always the same old bs. STOP screwing around and shut them down unless they give us an industry leading contract NOW!!!!!

Perhaps a change in representation, might have produced different results. I agree that there is a slow down on the part of the of our representation.
When does the TWU get a chance to give it a go? I saw the other that the AA stock was going to rise, but you are correct it has been falling.
The Association will never strike, they have to keep the defined pensions ( IAMPF ) afloat. With the UA numbers being released, $47.31 with a $1.00 Line Premium
and $1.00 Longevity and the highest License Premium of $5.25 in the industry, I believe we might be within a dollar of each other at this time? UA says a 2% industry
reset that is designed to keep their mechanics at the top??. Then you have Southwest talking about a 5% industry reset above AA and UA. The part I cannot figure out
is, as you have said we can work on each others metal, What is the hold up? If we are to be equal with the industry then what could be left for us to TA?

They through you a bone why not wait until the dust settles with UA and WN this way the negotiators have a stronger case for more improvement. If the new formula is UA+1% might as well wait

Top 90th percentile is a good place to be.

That is all I am saying.

Have you ever considered making comments that were not foolish, asinine, and childish?

By the way it's threw. Just saying.

The word threw is the simple past of the verb to throw, “to propel through the air”:
throw threw (have) thrown

The word through is a preposition used to indicate penetration or passage:
The bullet traveled through the vest. The hikers crawled through the low tunnel.

You are welcome.

This is the AMT thread last time I checked.  How about - all non AMTs find their own threads.  This gibberish above serves no purpose.
