Not assumptions.Vortilon said:You make a lot of assumptions on what our motivation for a better contract are.
Delusions.Vortilon said:When AA's AMTs were the lowest compensated in the industry, you were okay with that?
I have already explained my position on this. I will not rehash it.Vortilon said:What UPS and Fed Ex pay their AMTs; as it turns out,is a factor for wages and benefits when negotiating.
Why bother when AA has Tulsa Tech, Tulsa Community College, and Spartan providing them recruits near the largest commercial maintenance base in the world?Vortilon said:You even said as much, would they not be competing for the same new hires? It is, after all, the same profession
Yes, your UNION did GIVE those important items away.Vortilon said:Besides, our pay is pretty close with our industry peers now, we just need to restore the other important items that our union gave away.
Like I said the contract is not designed to retain lifers. If it is "happening right now" as you say that is just further proof their strategy is working. By all means make room for the new guard.Vortilon said:Regarding "lifers", many of us could retire right now, and start collecting our frozen pension, and relocate - even pick up another job in a city where we actually wanted to live. It's happening right now. BTW, you brought up the whole pension bit - not me.
What is it about the maintenance program that you think sucks?Vortilon said:Why would we want to base our pay on a maintenance program that most of us think sucks?
I hate to see your minds twisted by years of socialist propaganda care of the TWU.Vortilon said:Not sure what your interest is in an AMT forum, you didn't even play one on TV, or maybe you stayed at a Holiday in Express recently?
Fascists?toroshark said:Nobody here gives a crap about your okie-fascists opinions.
You and rest of the Line have sought out at some point unity of the AMT's to improve our condition, yet now you purposely seek to divide?toroshark said:Yo lali-ladopehead. You aren't and never been a AA AMT. Shut up and go worry about your new job. Which the conversation seems to imply that you were trained by our tax dollars. Nobody here gives a crap about your okie-fascists opinions. Get a life dork.
Uh-oh.. no he did it,, went and pissed on the Okie's Wheaties. I have to agree with you Buck, bad move.Buck said:You and rest of the Line have sought out at some point unity of the AMT's to improve our condition, yet now you purposely seek to divide?
Could you define okie-facists ?

No class, no points to make, just a mouth spewing propaganda, foolishness, and hate.
He does not like what I have to say yet he can't debase it because he knows it's true, so he resorts to pushing a false narrative in hopes it will garner public support.
Name calling, telling me to shut up, telling me no one gives a crap about my opinion simply because he disagrees with it. All behaviors of your typical 5 year old.

As far as I know, the line AMTs have always been on board for the most part. I believe DFW has always had high 90% of members signing cards. Where the lack of support has come from has been predominantly T2 and Tule M&R. Correct me if I misunderstood what you said.Buck said:
the Mechanics biggest problem in seeking a different form of representation has been getting the Line to participate in the beginning and then after the Line did come on board, the TWU supporters split themselves. Those that basically always supported the TWU and those that never understood the concept of AMFA and those that attempted to have the Teamsters try.
Tulsa has never had the unity in needed to change representation. Now the original AMFA supporters, in general, have little time to work a new card drive. Any attempt will be for those younger mechanics and those that are not here yet.
The Okie comment is another divisionary stab.
The Line turn out was much smaller in the late 80's, early 90's. However, their participation was excellent the last couple of drives. As I said there is division in Tulsa and many who just cannot make up their minds.DallasConehead said:As far as I know, the line AMTs have always been on board for the most part. And I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that since my time left here at this airline is little more then a few years, I no longer give a rats ass. Put a card in front of me and I'll fill it out for the umpteenth time. Sad but true I know, and people can say what they want, I'm to old to give a #### about that either.
The line turn out was always strong. It has always been Tulsa that never wanted to change. The many supporters in Tulsa faced a uphill intimidating battle on every drive. Now I hear guys in Tulsa crying for line support due to the big threat of outsourcing. Spare us your sympathy. I'm not interested anymore. My next goal is retirement in about ten years.Buck said:The Line turn out was much smaller in the late 80's, early 90's. However, their participation was excellent the last couple of drives. As for time remaining, I am referring to those of us that are approaching retirement.

Educated guesses based on posts made on THIS forum.
Delusions.
You were NEVER the lowest compensated in the industry. NEVER.
Low cost carrier mechanics make much less than you. I guess you are okay with that?
I have already explained my position on this. I will not rehash it.

Yes, your UNION did GIVE those important items away.
Yet, now you depend on them to restore.

I have never seen a mechanic on here say we deserve because of merits and accomplishments, it is always we deserve because they have.
The fact you think you should have just because someone else has is proof of your "everything has to be equal" socialist mentality.
How about instead of throwing out a bunch of catch phrases and accusations you prove me wrong?Vortilon said:Comes down to the fact that you have no dog in the fight. You appear to be a common Troll.
