I must correct here ch777. We are currently at 43.89 all in rate on day shift @ SWA.  Not over the 45 plus.

I'll bite.  Please tell us how you know, it really does need to be shared with the membership.

Looks like they (asso.) has nothing to pat themselves on the back for. After reading the update posted today, looks like this asso got you guys D+3 NOT D+7.  According to the letter it will take affect Nov 2016.  So Delta is at 46.15 X 3% = 47.54 whereas it should be 46.15 X 7%= 49.38. Which is more like where you guys should be.  I will say this, at least they are getting something and not having to wait for the contract to get ironed out. However, with that said, did the union just agreed to an increase with out a membership vote?  What does that mean if the contract is voted down later on?  What happens if UAL or SWA come to an agreement and you guys are no longer leading wages?  Too many open and unanswered questions remain...

Well well, well, there you have it.  You guys just experienced how the co. and the asso. is going to slam the D+3 on you.  There must have been enough rumblings from the membership about the D=? so they just figured a way to away with just D=3 rather than the D+7 and no vote will be taken.  Wow.  The co. is not being nice to catch you guys up while waiting for the rest of the contract, they are doing it for a reason and now you know that reason.  The membership must scream loud and clear to the NC that we are more than willing to accept this D+3 at this time BUT, there must be another 4% at DOS as long as it is under 1 year from now.  You guys need to force them to do this so you guys can get a say so about the pay-jmo...
Really dude...

WOW !!!!

We actually get treated like the rest of the airline, feels good to actually have have something nice  happen to us for a change.

Glad we don't vote on this pay raise (or gift from Doug, because we all know he doesn't have to negotiate until 2018 and even then delay it for years), I'm sure the vote NO know nothings would vote no just because it's not restore and more, TUL would vote no because they're not getting a guarantee of station protection, etc etc.....

THX Doug

This is why an agreement was made. The company needed this for their future plans!!

Additionally, the agreement provides for a provision that allows TWU-IAM Association maintenance and related and fleet service and related employees to perform work on either pre-merger American or US Airways aircraft. This provision currently exists in a limited fashion and expanding it will enable American to schedule its aircraft more efficiently and allow its workforce to more effectively maintain its fleet.

From Seymours letter:

Employees who moved into the TWU-IAM Association post-merger will become part of the IAM pension plan. In exchange, the Association has agreed to aircraft maintenance work flexibility, and that is outlined later in this letter.

Explanation please!

There is always some kind of hitch to pay increases for AMTs.  Holding off till November with a lump retro payment...priceless.  Add in that UAL appears to be making progress towards a new contract as well - which no doubt - will be more than our raise.  Remember, Doug said no leap frogging.  Well played Doug.  Oh we all appreciate the pay increase Bigjets; however, for once, it would be nice to get one without losing our dignity.

So we are giving up one of the few things that can be used for bargaining?!?!

The company still owes us 4% back to almost 3 years. Ball park figure is around 9000.00 plus change. They need to make it right for all union members!!!! IMO

I read that as to mean previously unrepresented groups like the planners/schedulers.

I`m wondering what is Delta +3% ? My math has it as $47.37/hr. Base of 42.37 plus 5.00 license. Has anyone seen any pay scales yet?

Anybody else notice Plant Maintenance is getting 29%, and AMTs only 23%?  Seems plant maintenance gained .80 cents per hour on our last wage adjustment to where their base pay is actually higher than an AMTs.  Looks like the company and the TWU are doing all they can to devalue our license premium.

I noticed. And how does that work for IAM who have their facilities and AMTs at the same rate.

(A copy of a post I made on the fleet side)

Look at the work groups and the circumstances when they got a contract. Each one (pilots, flight attendants, above the wing agents, dispatchers) came about as a result of the company needing something.

Right now the company needs 2 things. Improved morale among fleet and M&R and cross utilization. This pay increase is s stopgap measure put in place to address those two things without a jcba (would just take too long and they need these things today).

The remaining 2 groups without a contract (Sim Engineers and FCTIs) will continue to wait until the company's needs require a jcba for them. How long? Who knows :)

But meanwhile, I have to give a huge SHOUT OUT to you guys and gals on this deal. It's beyond well deserved and I'm happy for you.

It would appear Chairman of Plant Maintenance Dale Lantz is making a good case that his people are worth as much or more than an AMT. Who's in the AMT corner making a case for their worth?
