14 days to come up with a deal in 2003. Deal for the company that is. But when it's the other way around the process goes in a sleep mode.

ONE UNION, ONE VOICE!

I'm not making excuses for him and I am certainly not trying to say he needed to be elected president.  He is not perfect and neither am I but I do have a lot of respect for him and when I needed his help he was there and represented me.  If you don't like him that is fine but there is no need to smear him on this forum.  This whole thing has been divisive and we need to get over it.  Danker won in a landslide because we want him to finish what he started.  Let's move on and support Danker and the new board.

OldGuy I respect your opinion and we probably see 95% of things exactly the same. I understand that you have a since of loyalty to him for doing his job as an elected official. The problem is that gary is a Politian  and he does what it takes to get elected. Facts are facts and the membership needs to know who he is as a person. Gary is doing everything he can to keep himself in as an officer for himself only and not the membership. He has been proceeded by many others just like him examples are  Jim Little,Harry Lombardo,Bobby Gless,Dennis Burchette,Sean Doyle,David Vierala,Sonny HAll,Don Videtich,Bob Vanderloo and these are some of the people that put there own interests along with the unions in front of the memberships. I respect you for voting against him but the reality of the situation is that your since of right and wrong is what made you vote against him.

Anyone else get the latest propaganda from the twu? It says, in part, "we will fight for industry standard wages". Way to fight twu. Disgusting.

Yeah we are also supposed to be patient because it takes a long time to negotiate a contract :angry2:

What happened to industry "leading" wages?
AANOTOK is right.  What the hell happened to "industry leading contract"  not just "industry leading wages"  I very well remember the promise as well as guarantee's that this asso. wound bring "nothing less than industry leading contract NOT just industry leading wages."   Anything less than what was promised and guaranteed to the membership better be a one way ticket for the union to the street--period...

Understood 767.  I fully understand what you are saying.  We did speak loud and clear as a local and Danker now knows he has our support.  There were many who didn't vote though and that does concern me as I wonder if it was just apathy or if they are just plain disconnected and uninterested.  But most of the AMTs I talked to were voting Danker especially when they found out there was a coup attempt.  But Danker is going to get to finish what he started.  He also has an executive board that is committed to working with him.

Another Billion Plus in profits for the qtr today.

For M&E, nothing.

Someone, anyone, call Parker out on this today.

Wow! 1.6 BILLION DOLLARS in 3months time. It boggles the mind. As does the company's flat out disrespect and contempt for its AMTS. Yet another kick in the naps for the mechanics. Work safe out there fellas!

Well, we wore our union t shirts yesterday, they'll be worried now.

I bet you Parker was up there in his office just shaking like a chihuahua that can't poop. Seeing and hearing about all those mechanics wearing the union t shirt, man o' man, that's a strong labor group there.

On the July 15 JCBA update the Association stated that they are representing too many groups and that's why it's Taking so long, if that's the case let us go to a different union.

"We continue to receive feedback from the membership wondering when JCBA negotiations will be
concluded. We have been at the table in direct negotiations with American Airlines for seven months. We ask for your continued understanding that our joint contract bargaining is a very complicated process, which is different from the other large work groups that negotiated agreements at American.

The Association has multiple classifications and multiple contracts to negotiate within those classifications, including: Mechanic & Related, Maintenance Control Technicians, Material Logistic Specialists (Stores), Maintenance Training Specialists, Planners, Quality Assurance Auditors, Technical Documentation Specialistsincluding LAA PlannersQuality Assurance Auditors, and Technical Documentation Specialists that were not previously represented."

They always come up with an excuse!!  I for one am totally fed up with this so called Joke of an ASSociation!!!!

still only took them 2 weeks of negotiation to cut all those work groups pay and benefits. Do not here them complain there are to many groups for dues money. So they need to quit making excuses hire professional negotiators for each group and get it done. The twu/Iam only no how to negotiate one way and that's give backs . They can't even come up with a seniority fix with out a arbitrator. Plus since this association we have not got to vote on any thing so I have no confidence that if and when there is a Ta we will even get to vote on it. They can do that brother, and since we can not vote out the Intl there's no accountability.

Guess the best we are going to get this year is the .49/hr on September 12. Pathetic

as he is laughing all the way to the bank saying the old aa had it right the twu was the best paid off union give the international a passes first class and we will have the lowest paid mechanics . After the 03 pay cuts we on afternoon shift found out jim little and company were comeing in from sju. A/c maint and fleet all stood on both sides of the jet bridge. Of course we did not have to wait long. As jim little was the first one off the airplane. We told him how we all felt about him agreeing to worst cuts then the airlines who were are went thru bk. All he could say was you people need to grow up. But I saw unity that night. Wish we as amts could get unified . And stick together and get this done. But shirts are not going to do it. Picketing and news paper adds putting Parker on the defensive of why our groups have not been awarded . The union in dec 2014 should have started this information picketing and ad campaigns. And Lombardo should of wrote a letter as the pilots union about the toxic environment after the 4.5 percent raise was announced that we did not get still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. but the association is not going to do any thing to upset Parker. the pilots and flight attendants have a advantage over us there members are strong and unified there union backs them . Since the last update complained about having so many work groups we should help them out and vote them out and a new amt union in .plus the pilots and flight attendants can vote there leadership out where we are stuck with the international

when will all on this board realize that the TWU members both (fleet and mechanics) will never vote another union in or rock the boat they are all afraid of loosing their jobs since they hired on. 85% of them could not replace the wages they receive with AA since their initial hire. it is very simple if you want something else it isn't here you are going to get it.  85% of TWU members I would not hire to clean my garage.
