JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA AMTS

It has everything to do with the twu. They agree to this crap and bring it back and tell the members that's the best we can do. They play scare tactics to the members if you don't vote yes on this then they will be big lay offs. Then it's voted in and the lay offs comense you do not know what your talking about. And yes it has to do with fleet service. The company offers so much money for the twu groups maint and related. So we get screwed with our sick time and vacation so they can keep there biggest group happy. You will miss us when we get our own union then who's coat tale are you going to ride on. The twu is a buisness there going to do what it takes to make fleet happy. They do not care that they screwed maint to do it. I thank you should worry about your on group since your the biggest group the company will be looking to cut you guys down to size. Your always wanting layoffs for the mechanic group. When do union members of other groups bring up how many are in a other group and tell us we should be paid less. Your anti mechanic no doubt about it . Your not a true union member either. Your a punk that's all you are.
Conehead are you absolutely positive that the TWU is given a budget for both groups. sounds like a rumor that turned into a urban legend of sorts. Here at LUS at contract time they have separate budgets, X amount for Fleet and X amount for Maintenance. Money isn't taken from one group and given to another. Don't get me wrong it might be suggested in the heat of negotiations but to my knowledge it doesn't happen.Look at negotiations now they are completely seperate

Like I said, my job competes with SWA,DAL,UAL mechs, the higher paid mechs and AA OH competes with AAR, Timco and various forign MRO operations in S America and China, where there is one mech signing for unlicensed mechs. That's why AA will never bring all of AAs Maint back in house.

Yes Tulsa mechs can transfer to Line stations, but then they will have to move to a hub city where the price of a home and some land is a lot more expensive. So they will not leave Oklahoma unless forced to.

Line mechs will out number OH mechs for our next contract, and the idea of taking less to save OH jobs will not fly again. Two contacts 2003 and 2012 we took to save OH jobs, only to see both MCI and AFW close.
Oh great. We are going to start the "Line guys are a higher life form than O/H." again? hahaha. Go for it Bigjets. Line does have the numbers now so you guys will take the blame for the next lousy contract. I was just starting to like you too. Now you went and ruined it. I don't compete against MROs. I'm and airline mechanic just like you are.

It may have been the reality 30 years ago but I think the idea has been passed on since then?

In 93 I think it was they voted to give up deicing because they wanted more pay. But they blame their own vote on Fleet. WTF?

I don't think your group would have ever had any issues in the first place had you recognized the immense disparity and been willing to offer some relief. We have the same issue in our group but yours has always been concentrated to ONE particular location where ours is a little more spread out but the main culprit being DFW.

YOU voted to give up pay and benefits to keep your work. Totally understandable of course but you should at least acknowledge the fact.

A lot of the posters here like to say they hate the Union because it's such a Socialist structure. But these are the same Mo Mo's who have no problem at all being paid exactly the same as a guy in NYC, BOS, LAX or SFO when they live in dirt cheap TUL, DFW or CLT.

Hypocrites.

That is because we obviously can do it cheaper than them. The company saw the savings and that was less that MTC had to give up. It would be stupid to deny we are doing the jobs they used to do. So for a while there we re doing more work for less or the same pay we used to get

We got the same problem. BK forced us to give up Cabin Service to an outside vendor.

Maybe it was the Mechanics fault? They wanted our Cabin Service jobs now the NMB has ruled its part of their Class and Craft?

Mechanics have been riding our coattails for years and the TWU let's them get away with it!!!!

It's downright shameful, I for one am disgusted. If they dump avionics and Coney has to move to NYC I'll let him crash at my house.I'll strum my guitar and he can sing "There's a tear in my beer" its probably still on half the jukeboxes down there, maybe even still on the charts

I wouldn't worry about the Coneys having to crash on your couch Al. Look at this wonderful 3 bedroom I found in Astoria. Only $3000.00 a month.

See what I found on #Zillow!

Don't forget it might take an hour to find parking in Astoria unless he wants to rent driveway space. I want them living with me maybe they could hook up this darn cable box Cablevision charges $40 a visit now

No sir, I don't see anything in my post that disparages an OH mech in anyway or take pay away from OH to give to the line. What I posted is just facts. No attacks.

What weAAsle posted is pretty factual. The cost of living in dfw is cheaper then anywhere else in the AA system. It's fun to watch the AFW guys talk about house prices in Chicago, a lot of talk of moving to Wisconsin, 55 plus mile drive one way. If you want land a house and a conservative state.

What a couple of ass holes. If I ever got the chance to seperate or sell fleet down the river, you two would make that choice real easy.

We have a whole bunch of Clerks here in MIA setting up moves. Some live and commute to MCO and are beginning to get their transfers and I even know a few guys already house hunting in CLT.

Actually very few bringing up DFW these days.

Basically all I've ever wanted some of these guys to admit is that yes they have it pretty good where they are financially.

They never do though.
