What a couple of ass holes. If I ever got the chance to seperate or sell fleet down the river, you two would make that choice real easy.

See what I mean bigjets. Another guy in DFW can't admit how good he has it.

And if you ever got knocked out of your sweet cushy gig there and had to go to ORD or LGA I'm going to LMAO at you and say GOOD! Very much deserved.

Just put them on your ignore list, if everyone on this thread does it, they can talk to each other all they want and no one will ever know.

They just come here and write ridiculous things meant to harass and it seems the site moderator is unwilling to take care of it. So...

"Poof!!!" They're gone...

Oh my goodness. One of the absolute GREEDIEST people I've ever read is now going to ignore me? My World is coming to an end now.

Hey Conehead I really hope that you enjoy living in NYC. Yea those City and State taxes are going to be murder but you can't beat the International cuisine. No more BBQ for you every night.

Are you actually a Mechanic though or do we need to open a spot for you in Fleet?

A lot of the posters here like to say they hate the Union because it's such a Socialist structure. But these are the same Mo Mo's who have no problem at all being paid exactly the same as a guy in NYC, BOS, LAX or SFO when they live in dirt cheap TUL, DFW or CLT.

Hypocrites.
Never said that. I have always been for GEO pay and most guys in low cost areas are also for GEO pay to guys in high cost areas. GEO pay was shot down when the DFW local prez found out that DFW did not qualify for it and so he voted against it. Tulsa voted for it.

Pump the brakes there bigjets. I'm at DWH otherwise known as hangar 5 at DFW. Some genius designated it as overhaul, it's definitely NOT. I worked overhaul for over 20 years, DWH work is not it. We do the same work on the same aircraft working the same schedules. We do that work for less pay. No line pay, no MRT pay. That's $1.05/ hr less.
This past Sunday I taxied 3 737s and 1 777-300 to and from the gates. We are expected to do the oil cards with each move. It's my understanding that dfw move crews do not. I was also assigned a PS on one of those 737s. Wednesday night we picked up 6 RON from DFW. No line pay, no cs and now overtime is severely restricted.
Sorry but I get a burr under my saddle when lumped in with traditional overhaul. I have nearly 27 years and have not seen Saturday/Sunday off in many moons. End of my little rant, carry on.

Thanks for the great insight on what your day consisted of. Sounds like what we used to call "line hanger" back when we were a hub. Now if it's a scheduled O/H aircraft, O/H will come up and get it, but when it's finished, and crosses the tracks, and the logbook is handed over, Line will bring it back up to the gate.

All at the same pay rate. We voted our line premium pay away some contacts ago. And if I had my guesses, this is the way it will be with the new JCBA. We'll all be Mechanics at the same rate regardless of shop. The only difference now is shift differential.

$.51 for afternoons
$.58 for midnights

Are we going to be all the same rate, including the Line Premium?

Does the Fleet Service group get a premium for working the line?

Shift differential? I remember when we had that here at AA. Now it's. 01 for afternoon and .02 for midnights. It's too bad that the twu or any union for that matter, does not push for a percentage based shift differential. 5% aft. 10% mids, 20% if you work the weekends.

At some point the union may want to come through with a good contract, especially with the right to work being pushed as a federal law.

Cuirious to find out how many guys will continue to pay for this kind of representation if not forced to.[/QUOTE]

Could you explain how individuals use Right to Work in the Airline Industry to not pay dues?
Are you speaking of Agency Fee? or their entire dues payment?

I think these amounts of shift pay are fairly common for hospital workers. Which is also a 24/7 operation, no reason why this couldn't be applied to Aircraft Maintenance Technicians as well, since we are skilled workers.

Red wire goes to red
Blue to blue
Green with green
And Black to black.

Yes I agree. Skilled "real" Aircraft Mechanics should have better premiums for shift work.

You though? Nah.

I ran into the AMFA National Director last night. He said they just negotiated a TA for Alaska Airlines and also at SW the company has offered over $50 per hour but he said after all this time in negotiations that it is not enough. He is raising the bar!

Great idea. After 4 1/2 years negotiating they might as well see if they can break the record. I'm sure SWA Management don't mind stalling it out a few more years, SMH.

Brett has just been voted as national director so he can't be held accountable for the length of time in negotiations. He became director in October I believe. But I would like to point out that even 4 1/2 years into contract talks they still make more money and have better benefits than we do even after our raise in August. That in itself should be an indication of how good the TWU and the association are for us. I do know their fleet is TWU and they settled a while back. But that would be for the fleet thread and not this one.

OldGuy you and I both know and this has been covered to death WHY they make more Money than you. Far less in House Maintenance spend and far less members and has made a profit every year of their existence. Why can't that ever be admitted?

I told my friend Danny who has an A and P and an MBA what you said and his response was "Are they crazy" And he makes a lot more than they do in the Aviation business if that matters.

There's a lot of reasons especially Politically right now that they should lock in. The biggest reason is if they want to take this further I don't see a PEB too favorable to them personally? Do you?

If they got the company to back off of any SCOPE demands and especially if they got Retro (I doubt full) it's CRAZY to wait any longer after how long it's been already.

And none of this has anything to do with this guy Brett. I really do wish him and them all well.
