Let's be clear about one thing...the union LEADERSHIP wanted a change in management and supported the merger. I don't recall ANY employee being asked his/her opinion regarding it.
bingo, bingo, bingo.

exactly what I have been saying.

Union leadership acted on their agenda to oust Horton and co. with no input from their rank and file employees.

how could 'secret meetings in PHX' have occurred if labor was fully represented?

Parker brainwashed a handful of labor leaders who took the lives and decisions of tens of thousands of AA employees into their own hands - and the FA vote reflects the displeasure with that arrogance.

it won't get any better with any subsequent workgroup but I strongly suspect the pilots will fight back - as they should.

hopefully, they won't be the only ones to fight.

From the reaction I'v been hearing in DFW. Shame on you for voting the best contract you F***/A**** F/A will have in years.
All of you were keeping careful track of the pennies, meanwhile the dollar bills just flew out the window. All of you who say you votes "NO" on principal? well just what principal was that? Parker said in front of you NC "iF YOU MENTION PROFIT SHARING AGAIN ---NO MORE NEGOTIATIONS! Enough said you get what you get!

Are you saying that the union leaders acted against the will of the membership? File a DFR suit.

How many times did we hear cries here asking for Tom Horton's head on a platter? Or Arpey's for that matter?

That wasn't the leadership making those statements. It was the rank and file.

You guys wanted change, well, you certainly got it.... with some cheese on it.

Overspeed, do you really think for one moment that the TWU/IAM will go from the bottom of industry to the top?  In one swooping contract?  You are completely off your rocker if you think the AA fellas will get industry leading contract.  The mechanics won't even reach SWA's current contract and were in current nego's.  Let's not forget the industry leaders FedEx and UPS top dog.  C'mon man...

Apparently they did their own thing....

So you heard ALL of the rank and file's cries? EVERY ONE OF THE THEM?

Let me ask you this.....If the senator, congressman, or even a president that you voted for were to enact a law or pass legislation on an issue you were vehemently opposed to,, would or could you file a lawsuit against that politcian?

I know of NOT ONE co worker who was in favor of this merger...NOT ONE!

Amazing how you can speak for EVERY employee!

100% correct. The idea that most look at profit sharing as their personal goose with the golden eggs, and to watch the company earn record profits is a bitter pill to swallow. I hope the fleet JCBA will take what ever they think PS would bring them and include it as a pay increase instead.

The argument should be why PS is a negotiable item. It wasn't for the first few contracts when I hired in. A raise is  earned income. PS is a job well done shared company wide!

I totally agree with that. It should be like health benefits -- one plan for all employees, and not something that any one group can try to negotiate better terms for itself than for other co-workers.

Good point. The problem I saw with PS is that it is based on such a puny formula, if the company makes a billion, I would get a little bit more than a week's gross salary. In the early 90's I was getting a PS check based on a much more generous formula. I received a couple of checks that were way more than the best scenario of the recent PS methodology making way less than I do now.
I do believe that an increase in salary benefits the workers more than a single PS check, but the fact that is was based on such an anemic formula, the company could have kept it intact for ALL employees regardless of what raises were given. It doesn'y amount too a whole lot more than the $250 max per quarter AIP we once had.

Wasn't this thread about the FA's TA being voted down? Pilots, mechs, FSC's, and Agents should learn from FA's mistake.
I hope the recent elected negotiating team for the Passenger Service Agents is seeing the way company and their contracted union busting firm works. The USAirways agents are the only group on the property the still has profit sharing in their CBA. Sit back and watch the show of jerry and gang. I suspect jerry and gang will try to alienate the PSA and pit the AA agents between the US agents. The AA agents want a CBA. The US agents enjoin a CBA

The CWA will sell out the hub employees to keep small stations that are all Express flying mainline staffed.
