If you think a minority by two to one will win an election for representation, maybe you are nuts! Seriously, what are you smoking? Even former TWA F/A's aren't that crazy.

I'm on LABOR's side....that's the only side I know. It's my experience that drives me.
USAirways does not have the fortitude, aptitude, business sense to make all these variables fall into place. They are too greedy, and don't care about rapport or sound and balanced relationships with labor. Its just their history that speaks for itself.
....And that's putting it very kindly indeed. I wish all at American the best in this mess....but...placing ANY trust in "Team Tempe" has been well proven to be a fool's errand indeed. Perhaps I've grown "a bit" cynical, but the possibility of all this being contrived just to get their grubbies on American, and subsequently drag all into bankruptcy round 2 in a fairly short time period, if things don't work as they supposedly wish...well...wouldn't be at all surprising.

As a result of Deutsche Bank’s March 2010 acquisition of BHF-Bank AG, a security may be covered by more than one analyst within the Deutsche Bank group. Each of these analysts may use differing methodologies to value the security; as a result, the recommendations may differ and the price targets and estimates of each may vary widely.
In August 2009, Deutsche Bank instituted a new policy whereby analysts may choose not to set or maintain a target price of certain issuers under coverage with a Hold rating. In particular, this will typically occur for "Hold" rated stocks having a market cap smaller than most other companies in its
sector or region. We believe that such policy will allow us to make best use of our resources. Please visit our website at http://gm.db.com to determine the target price of any stock.

I truly believe that USAirways is using this takeover BS to hammer the USAirways/America West f/as to sign another T/A as soon as possible. They just turned down their T/A in March by 90%. USAirways can not get the financial benefit unless these unions sign to MERGE with joint contract agreements. It's been since 2005.
Did YOU ever hear of a merger in the making that lasted 7 years plus??????? What do you think could be the issue? It's not the two f/a groups, they are all under AFA,
and same with the pilots groups, huge issues...
Putting American into the mix makes these variables much more difficult for all parties. Synergies sound great on paper. USAirways changed THEIR business plans about 6 times since 2001 post and pre 9/11.
USAirways does not have the fortitude, aptitude, business sense to make all these variables fall into place. They are too greedy, and don't care about rapport or sound and balanced relationships with labor. Its just their history that speaks for itself.
If you look at the USAirways stock price, it only started to move up when the AA merger announcement was made at the end of March. Take a look at the graphs. That stock has been in single digits since late 2007 going into 2008. The stock has had a terrible performance.
..
Its also about moving the stock price up...you know "shareholder value"? All the execs are tied to their stock options. Time to cash in as well. That's part of their compensation.
If you care this much, do some research and start thinking about what is happening here.

I read I watch the stock and know how it works so no need to use caps with me. So, you think this is all a ruse by US just to 'f%^<. with me and my fellow FA 's really? We are a merged airline the merger is done, however we are not one FA group. You know are TA was held hostage because of the pilots. You know we asked for the NMB to step in to hurry things along. Thanks for the aggressive response.
I don't think that will be possible, as AA and the PBGC have already filed their stipulated agreement that AA will not seek to terminate the non-pilot plans. Huge mistake by AA, IMO, but Horton didn't call me and ask me for my advice before agreeing to Josh Gotbaum's outrageous demands.I just believe that if American's managment see themselves backed in a corner, they may take an offer from USAirways and ensure they all leave with parachutes, and as a condition, it may be that they may motion to terminate your pensions.
I know that USAirways will not fund a defined pension plan in any shape or form; whether frozen or not.
