Is USAirways hostile takeover Of AA for Real?

WT just does not want DL to have to compete with a cobined AA/US . A larger airline that would be number 1 on the east coast ( the most populated area in the us) and #2 in the entire Midwest , # 3 on the west coast.

I welcome any competition between anyone, regardless of whether it affects DL.

My position regarding US' merger efforts with AA HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE that if US can present the best merger proposal - which includes doing what is best for the employees of both companies, then it would be a good thing.

US has repeatedly tried to jump ahead of the well-established process that is established in the restructuring process - and they have not succeeded because they have not demonstrated they can succeeded based on their own merits - what US can present in the merger proposal.

When US gets the opportunity to do so, and if they can demonstrate the value they can add to all in the process, then I have no problems supporting them.

If someone else comes up w/ a better proposal and is able to beat US' proposal - including AA's own standalone proposal - then that is the proposal that should win.

one other thing.... all of the stats about how big US/AA would be fail to account for the certain integration and downsizing that will occur - as well as the reaction of competitors. It is not at all clear that AA/US would rank where you say they would once the dust settles.

Oh my. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Pitbull, the world of real business and finance is far different than you imagine. I cannot trade stocks in the same manner I once did, neither do businesses proceed with the same terms of protocol.

Since you know so much, then you know that finishing off the contract is actively in process and that only a fool would try to finish one specific item and then go onto the next. Life happens much faster now than it did in the 20th century...fewer people have to do more work or several jobs at the same time. Do you really believe that operating a business is any different?

Business is far different than I imagine????? What planet are you on?

I know all about business. I work in it, been educated in the field, (and other fields) and always have more than one iron in the fire...past and current day! How many jobs are you working??????

One thing great about being our age....we know how things work and know how to connect the dots....wouldn't you agree Mr.
Entrepreneur...

No, the writer is not a liar. If you were opposed to every contract you were part and parcel to the problem. The problem being that you were not creative enough or flexible enough or smart enough to find a solution that worked for the Union and the company.

I know you don't like reading that, but THAT IS THE TRUTH!

ps- what kindof douchebag wants a company to liquidate just because ones egomania wasn't fed properly?

I was as creative as I was going to get, or give to this management. The VFLR and the VF was my idea and that first started with Gangwal back in 2001 post 9/11, to help save the company millions and millions of $$ in cost savings....and save employees in all labor groups from being INVOLUNTARILY furloughed! Many other airlines adopted this same concept. Even worked with the Unemployment state offices to guarantee unemployment compensation for these employees that volunteered.
Just slide your chair to the next cubicle where your buddy Jerry Glass is sitting. He should have the business acumen to explain who did what when and how.

What have you done for anyone lately???? Put your mouth where the money is!

Ok again a BIG pat yourself on the back for the VFVLR. Did you not take a buy out? You still have yet to answer the question ...you would have rather US liquidate? Many of my co-workers on the line are shocked by your statement. It speaks volumes !!!

Have your "co-workers" contact me...I have volumes of info to tell them.

I've already answered your questions above in another post.

She got it like every other FA and employee got it, it was offered by the company.

Thanks 700.

DC just dossn't get it.

In 2005, all the VFLR's received $10,000 to go out on the VFLR package with limited recall rights to return...unemployment, and your flying passes.

I got your back Pitbull, always have and always will, just like you have been there for me and my membership also and you didnt have to be.

Out on the line I always stuck up for her and all her hard work . That has all changed with recent post. I want what is best for us. I get PB still having hatred for this management , but AA 's is no better if not worse. A merger is in the best interest for both companies . She has moved on and we are here to survive !!!!!

Lately, I seem to be throwing pearls before swine.

Your own quote: "I was as creative as I was going to get, or give to this management." Meaning: You plateaued. You failed. Btw, there is nothing wrong with failure. The reality is that you were only able to take things so far and this happens all the time in management and elsewhere. When you understand what your limitations on getting and giving are as well as taking and receiving you won't be so frothy and rabid.

Btw, some such as myself do a great deal. What we don't do is run around with a sign saying look at me look see what I did everyone do you like me now? I'm not that empty. So my thoughts and thoughtlessness will just have to do so get a thick skin because apparently after years of "experience" you haven't any.

I got your back Pitbull, always have and always will, just like you have been there for me and my membership also and you didnt have to be.

If I may, let me help you with the fallacy of your logic. One the one hand you feel devoted to Pitbull for being there for you and your fellow employees during your time of need, but those actions happened back THEN. On the other hand, you choose to support her as she wishes you and all of your co-workers an unhappy liquidation, this is happening NOW.

Now why is it you feel it is ok for you to not have an income and fully support the liquidation of a company you and your family uses for health benefits, travel enjoyment etc???

You apparently have a very unusual circle of friends.

The issue is the merger or potential of it, its not about Pitbull or myself.

You havent had a new agreement in seven years and Doug went behind your backs and has an LOA with the three major unions at AA.

Focus your anger at Doug, not Pitbull.

And no where did she say she wanted a chapter 7 and if you have looked at US' financials there is no danger of that happening at the moment or the near future.

Doug has completed a merger seven years after and you support him in a new one?

Perhaps this little US-labor leader focused discussion is indicative of the difficulties that would be involved in another US merger, let alone one that involves yet another airline with its own strong-minded labor leaders?
