Dougie and the Alliance are about to "Harmonize" that right out of the JCBA!!700UW said:At US you bump anywhere in your station , and if you cant hold it you can bump anywhere in the system where you can hold a position, you dont bump the junior person in the system.
texasreb said:Just ask the guys from AFW. Many junior guys at DFW, but they were not allowed to bump them.
In case you weren't aware, when AFW was started, DFW AC Maint was represented by 513, it was proposed that AFW employees be in 513 and one station with DFW, DAL, and GSW, like it was back then. 514 balked and that was that. Then when self determination came about under Sonny Hall, the idea was floated to make DFW and AFW one local, it was shot down because the guys at AFW didn't want it. Just a little history lesson for ya there.trentrb211 said:Thank you. So much for the one station rule
dvlhog212 said:Problem in the afw situation is senior guys being forced to bump in mia, lga, ord, etc. All the while there are junior people right here at dfw/dwh. The current system could have a 5/90 employee being laid off at dwh. While a 4/2001 employee at dfw is untouched. That's pretty unfair if you ask me. Certainly a failure of representation. A policy being in place for many years does not make it right or mean it should not be changed. An "injustice to one is an injustice to all"?
Apparently Pike @567 is attempting a one station rule for DWH/TASEL. That's going to be a fight. That is a non-starter here at DWH.In case you weren't aware, when AFW was started, DFW AC Maint was represented by 513, it was proposed that AFW employees be in 513 and one station with DFW, DAL, and GSW, like it was back then. 514 balked and that was that. If this is true then I suppose TAESL closing is not a rumor.dvlhog212 said:Apparently Pike @567 is attempting a one station rule for DWH/TASEL. That's going to be a fight. That is a non-starter here at DWH.
All rumor as of now. I have not had a chance to ask him in person. If this is true then I suppose TAESL closing is not a rumor.
The RIF process might not be too much of an issue had we kept the $12500.dvlhog212 said:Gee JAFI, bitter much? You were welcome to come to AFW. Look at this another way. Lets say 70 AMTs were to be riffed from DFW. What do you think the response would be when those 70 found out they could not bump across the field to DWH or across town to TASEL? I`ve been here 24 years and have never been in favor of the rif process. It IS unfair and anti seniority. The worthless union is the only union I know of that handles rifs this way. How does it make sense for a jr guy to stay put while a sr guy has to move across country? It does not. Once again just because "that's how it always has been done" does not make it right. I have many friends in TASEL that have been and could be unfairly impacted by any rumored rif there. I also have many friends that were put on the street or scattered across the country all the while junior employees at dfw and dwh remain untouched. Have a good one!
That would lessen the blow for some guys. Still though, I stand by my position that your seniority should work for you without condition or restraint. The RIF process might not be too much of an issue had we kept the $12500.
