Funny we had a retired TWA tech working with awa until he retired from us and he wasn't getting crap from his TWA pension it got wacked.

WOW, you have been calling the IBT's pension fund grossly underfunded, here you say the PBGC guarantees , although it could be less, why is it less??? It has been underfunded due to companys not paying int the fund over the years making the cuts necessary
Which is man, IBT right, or wrong, funny when you want to make a point you will accept an underfunded PBGC, yet bash the IBT!!!!!!!!
Still if you put the same funds in a 401k you will not stand the risk of your company dumping it, unless one puts the monies into some bad investment area it will not go away PERIOD.
As for the 3% DCP, that would only be 45 cents an hr for me, Heck if i quit buying sodas at work I would come home with more money in my pocket at the end of the day and that is without the DCP

The IAMNPF is not underfunded and why has the ibt not done anything to make the employers pay into the funds?

You are a smart person 700, but if companies continue to turn their pensions over to the PBGC ie US, DL, NW, UAL, GM, Ford and who ever else there will not be enough money in it to pay anybody!! Until the idiots in Washington stop allowing companies to not fund them and then turn them over, nobodies PBGC guaranteed pension is safe!! And while we are on the subject, when U turned over the M&R pension over to the PBGC where was the IAM fighting to get the members in the pension then, it wasn't until the IBT got involved did the IAM start touting it's pension to it's members!

The Negotiating Committee tried to the into the IAM National Pension Plan during the 1113 C negotiations.
Remember, no agreement could be reached, our contract was abrogated and we voted on a final offer from the company.
