TWU is Claiming that United filed for bankrupsy because Amfa supporters pushed everyone to vote against the last contract that the IAM tried to approve before the bankrupsy filing! This is why TWU claims "AMFA" is the cause of United going into bankrupsy! Now with that all said! The real story is that united filed bankrupsy because they could not secure a large loan from the goverment, the goverment rejected the loan on the premise of the business plan that united submitted did not look sound! This business plan all ready had mechanics accepted concessions, even though they did not vote on it! As the web master of www.the-mechanic.com states: it did not even matter if Mechanics accepted it or not the goverment pulled the plug and united filed for BK! This all happened about dec. 2002, now we have more evidence that the IAM was against concessions in the summer proir to everything happening! So who's fault is it?

Your statements are correct and can be easily confirmed by anyone willing

Question: Why do they lie when they were there and know the facts?

Since the TWU has no other strategy, and since the recent telephone survey proves that they are unlikely to remain our representatives they are going to simply try to cause as much confusion, uncertainty and fear as possible. They will do so with lies, rumors, threats etc. Their only chance is to try and create and then capitalize on uncertainty and fear. It is a known fact that when someone is given all sorts of conflicting information that they will simply stay put until they can figure out what is genuine.

So over the next few months we will see a well funded dis-information campain waged by the TWU , not to say how good they are, but to leave the member confused, uncertain and fearful in the hopes that they can discourage a move towards change.

That is the reason why the TWU bails out of debates once the facts come out as we have seen over and over again.
