PHX had the IAMNPF rep breif us this past week. My understanding is that if you are M&R, retired and collecting the IAMNPF pension then you can't work in the M&R field and continue to collect your pension. She stated that it was a "RETIREMENT" pension and they pretty much expect you to be retired. If you retire with 30 years within the NPF you can collect a reduced amount (a percentage for every year that you are under age 62 or 65 (I'm sorry I didn't pay much attention after I found out that if I retire next year, I'll collect $58 @ month).ORIOLEMAN <_<
Can't say that I'm up on the 30 and out with IAMNPF. Lost my 85 point plan last time in court, early out is gone. So lets say you go to FEDX. Pay and benefits way better. As far as I was told you have to ASK if you can collect your retirement. And that some people that were collecting had to pay it back. So if you guys were vested. And had your 30 years / points ? You have to ask. That S#X! That is a bad point of the IAMNPF. But so is the 401k. If you don't roll it over the tax man is on your butt.
IMO, the younger guys are NOT going to calculate squat! They hear pay raise and they are ready to vote YES.
GSE, Tool Crib and Interior will fall under the M&R class and craft. They will see a large pay increase, but will have to shell out $$$$$ that they didn't have to in the past. I have no problem with anyone having their pay increased. I do have a problem with non-licensed people getting paid at the same rate without having to shoulder the same responsibility. My A & P is on the line everytime I sign for the work I have accomplished.
I do feel that the negotiating team sold us out, but then I wasn't there either. I do feel the IAM sold us out by agreeing in principle to this agreement. This T/A does not benefit the majority of the people it is intended to protect in the first place.
I am voting NO!
