Your benefits, vacation, sick time will stay the same. The heavies will be cut and you will make no more under the great transition agreement the IAM will sign for the company. A companies union.

ah dude the poster claims dougie will talk to whatever union is there.....duh...

Wings you are confused.
The IAM is talking about Mechanic and Related, that is who the ibt are asking for a vote, not ramp as the ramp at HP is twu.

GET A CLUE no one wants the IAM any more IBT TWU even the AFGE, 4A"s, BCTGM, even the GIRLS SCOUTS would be better than what you have to offer us.

GET OUT OF THE QUICK SAND VOTE IBT

What new scope?

Your scope was never T/Aed and the company has cancelled negotiations since you will be an IAM member and under the IAM/US CBA.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Airwoman,

I am not the author, contact Mr O'Driscoll.

more wishful thinking there seven, and are you sure it was cxld, the last we knew it was suspened pending the outcome of the vote...

I finally took to the time to listen to DP's address and Q & A session held with the Phx mechanics today. What he said about the IBT and IAM several weeks ago holds alot of revelance today now that there will most likely be an election. If you haven't heard it, I recommend you log onto Compass and listen to it for yourself. IMO it reveals a willingness to negotiate a new contract with whoever is the surviving Union. Listen for yourselves if you weren't there or haven't heard the taped recording.

I haven't listened to that one, but I did listen to the crew news sessions. Doug repeatedly said the company's goal is to keep total costs (US+HP contracts) the same. Probably wont' be any raises, but no pay cuts either.

The good thing is at least ceo's never lie.

That's true about keeping total costs the same. It's going to be a shell game with money. BUT on the other hand, there have been groups that are getting more money so there IS money to be had. There are pay variances, vacation variances, paid holiday variances, sick time variances east vs. west. It's going to be UGLY. I dont' see many that will be pleased overall. Some will win and some will lose. IMO, it's going to come down to whether you want to fight for pay or benefits.

It's a good one to listen to. Mechanics can be a tough bunch and rightfully so. The thing that I noticed was DP's message didn't waver thru all the bombardment he received. Why he continues to have townhall meetings with groups he knows is going to shell him should tell you something about his character. At least he doesn't run and hide and tries to communicate to us even though the fire is tough. It would be so easy to run the airline from his office without having to handle the unpleasant task of telling folks the reality of our situation which is what we really don't want to hear.

The company's position going into the transition agreement is to keep the cost's inline with the "industry standard". Airwoman is right about the "shell game". DP stated that if we want an hourly raise, then perhaps we should tell our representatives that a pay raise is more important than say the pension fund (using it for an example). Shell game is what he was also talking about. Look...he didn't close the door on negotiating. He just made it clear that we can't wander away from a range that falls within the "industry standard". Another point he made later on was if the IAM doesn't prevail there may be some additional savings if the heavy checks currently outsourced don't have to come back inhouse. Hint, Hint. Could this mean a pay raise? This will all have to be negotiated. Something I think we can get done within reason. Listen to the broadcast. Make up your own mind.

Another item that caught my attention was the executive pay raises. You know he caught hell for that, but he did provide a rationale that was logical (at least to me). 30 percent less management allowed for modest pay increases (modest in that it was a small percentage not that thousands of dollars is insignificant). And so far as his salary being compared to other CEOs he fired back with a question if those other CEOs are also a Chairman? (which he is both and carries additional responsibility). Look I know I'm probably gonna catch hell for mentioning these things, but only telling half the story to make a point is wrong (like some on this board like to do). Make your own mind up by listening to the audio cast on Compass. One thing is clear...he hasn't waivered on his message from day one of the merger...one way to tell a fake is when their story changes unexplainedly. Listen to the audio cast, and any other archived broadcasts you can get your hands on and make up your own mind.
