I just worked with a former "EAST" F/A - Many topics

Training was 5 1/2 weeks for only 3 planes!! A full day on the liquor form and a ton of guest speakers which I heard they got rid of a bunch to make it 5 1/2 weeks. Working a west trip...
Express service is going through with the cart but no tidbits(west slang for pretzels). If the flight is over 2 hours you do 2 bev services. The "A" f/a is not allowed to go past overwing nor is she allowed to use the restroom if she's the only f/a in the front. I normally work the back and rarely ever meet the pilots. There different on almost every leg. Liquor forms must be filled out after each leg, sealed and verified by another f/a. And so on.....
I have to lie down to fully absorb this.
A FULL DAY on the liquor form?!!!!
kiddlebits?
No pottie break while ALONE?

The "A" f/a is not allowed past FC during boarding. During a video demo "A" f/a must stand infront of FC and the other must stand behind the last row. If one of the pilots need to use the restroom one f/a must go into the cockpit and another f/a must come up to the front and stand infront of FC the whole time the pilot is out of the cockpit.

<SNIP> Anyway, apparently, we have recently adopted HPs policy of waiting for passengers if it is the last flight of the night. US has done that, but we had LIMITS!
I can envision several Duty Time issues with that policy.

That’s a great rule. Really enhances CRM.

I’ve found that staring out the window works for me. Sometimes I see a contrail.

Exactly....I hope it goes east way on flying with the same crew. Yesterday I had 3 legs and came in late on everyone of them. I didn't have time to come to the front and meet the pilots. The pilots don't need to be on the plane unitl 20 min prior to departure. The "A" f/a will get a briefing from the captain and tell the "B" f/a(on the east it's the"C") who will come back and tell the "C" f/a. And of course that's if all of them remember. I know by the time I walk from the front to the back so many pax have asked me so many questions I'd forget what I was going to say.

Though I like the way the flight attendants and pilots stay together on the east side for CRM it does make the flight attendant trip value less. We would have much higher paying trips if we didn't have to follow the pilots. We are trained on every aircraft while they must stay with the a/c they are currently trained on. It would be weird to split but again it would make for more effective trip pairings.

But then there are more 'stowage spots' for Crew Juice if you stay with the pilots.

Yeah....how do you think I met my man.
It would definitly cause abit more drama on the west. But we're use to it!!

I agree. We would have higher paying trips, but something needs to be done with setting a limit on that. They can fly us up to 14 1/2 hours...hard time in one day. The east has a much stronger union than the west so hopefully if we do stay split up this will be fixed.

Hear that Biddy and Sissy 14 hours of block time! Ouch!

How do they record 1/2 minis?

And

When they go through this verification procedure, do they have to talk out loud with the other FA saying, VERIFIED?

What is the purpose of this? It wouldn't stop any undesirables . At least our cart would delay things by a few seconds, and make a racket for all to hear.

How do they record 1/2 minis?
Now there's math involved too.

A couple of 3 Days full of those and you’re done for the month.

In more ways than one.
I can not imagine a three or four day with fourteen hour hard-time. What is the FAA limit? Does HP have anything like our required S1,S2? What then is their duty-time limit?

Who verifies the Verifier?

I know!
