I honestly don't know what PATCO 1968 was.
PATCO 1981 was an ILLEGAL Strike, and IMO, a very stupid thing to do.
They had very clear language that made striking illegal, cut and dried, no debate.
Yes..Illegal! Yes...
But the unions in this country should have saw the writing on the walls towards the anti-union sentiment finding seats in the congress. It became solidified in the years following dergulation and war was officially declared with Patco and again in 1983 when Lorenzo took CO into bankruptcy and slashed employees/benefits/wages in most cases 50%.
Illegal or not, the unions stood by idly....Then again more recently when the IAM folded like a cheap leisure suit under Congressional threats of jail time for union leaders resulted in not following through in support of the Eastern Mechanics.
