You will get relative seniority and be happy about it. Stop whining West Pilots saved your pealing paint job planes and you from being a Greeter.

Why in the world are you attacking the employees of this airline? We worked just as hard as everyone else to help this company survive. WHY THE ATTACK? WEST PILOTS DID NOT SINGLE HANDEDLEY SAVE ANYTHING! THE MANAGEMENT OF THE AIRLINES DID. YOU SAY THAT LIKE YOU HAD YOUR HAND IN IT. Honest to God, get over your own inflated ego.

That was not my intention at all and if it came across that way, then I appoligize. If the shoe fits....

West/East...it doesn't matter. Lets make this merger a good thing for all our sakes. The other airlines are sitting back and enjoying the tension between west/east. They see it as the reason this merger will not work. Let's work together to prove them wrong.
 
Well you say Lakefield was such a wallstreet guru and could have brought us to this point with his wallstreet clout why didn't he? You were in your 2nd bk and days from closing the doors and being walmart greeters and I don't se he was able to bring anything to the table!

I also see it this way while US was posting $40 MILLION dollar LOSS each and every quarter but at the same time HP was posting $40 MILLION dollar PROFITS at the same time so US would have been a distant memory before HP would have ever had to file for BK if they would have! :)
 
If you take a look around, you'll notice that it is the same malcontents over and over who stirring the pot. And they are from both sides. Luckily for the company, they are a very small percentage. There are very few people who post garbage here, that would speak the words the type.

US was not days away from shutting down, it has obtained concession in January of 05 by all labor groups, had the ATSB approval to use the loan as operating funds, got investments by Eastshore and Wexford.

Those are facts, US was not close to shutting down.

Your own CEO admitted you would be filing chapter 11, you had to get an ATSB loan to stay in business after 9/11 as no banks would loan HP any money.

And the only reason you turned a profit as you are one of the lowest paid in the airline industry.

The only reason US went bk2 was to "reduce costs through labor concessions". There was no urgency nor impetus to "save" the airline. None of the concessions had any effect on the survival of the airline. The cost cuts were to "make" the two carriers more compatible for merger.

I cannot speak for A&W, but, based on Dougie Housers comments, would think A&W was close to liquidation while US was simply re-aligning their labor costs in order to facilitate a merger. That would constitute two separate economic situations, one, A&W, in economic crisis, the other, US, simply revamping the way they did business with labor.

You would benefit to taking some college level econ and business courses to find out how silly and ignorant your remarks are.

Competant corporations show a profit when they want to and not a minute before. Profit/loss is something incompetant management allows out of their control.

Let me say this another way.

Announcing a profit or a loss is, generally, only done to achieve certain goals, propaganda, if you will. Successful financial people know this, which is why they truly research firms before investing rather than simply looking at whether a corporation posts a profit or a loss, as you imply, above.

Look no further than Enron for evidence that "profit" really means whatever you want it to mean.

Were you in the bankruptcy hearings?

Were you given the company's confidential financial information?

Were you present and involved in east labor negotiations?

When you can answer yes to all of the questions, then come back and tell us what actually happened.

who cares....we are one company now...who cares who bought who and who is better then who...we have to put our energy now on growing the NEW USAIRWAYS and bettering our working contracts...ENOUGH SAID!
 
IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE NOW.

It is meaningless whether or not East was days away from shutdown, and it is meaningless whether or not West would have done a chapter 11.

The company as a whole survived and will do well, with the best employees in the industry and management that APPEARS to know what they're doing.

The malcontents on both sides need to crawl back into their holes and let things go already. IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER ANY MORE.

And a final word...it was to the credit of the fine front line people of East that their company lasted long enough to be part of this new US Airways. THEY are the heroes here, who kept people like me coming back long enough to keep the doors open and let this day come. So if you want to thank someone thank the frontliners.

The rest of you, get over it.
