Here you go Westies

US was not days away, it just got concessions from every group in January, still had the $1 billion ATSB loan, money from Eastshore and Wexford.

So you are saying Parker is lying?

And the only people that would lend HP money was the ATSB, and they all ready had a loan from them.

See since you are retired maybe you did not know these facts.

Two things:

Parker can say what he wants. It's speculation, since it never happened.

HP had just had a profitable quarter, and US was in it's second bankruptcy in two years. Combine that with the regulatory filings with both the SEC and bankruptcy court that indicate that America West was the acquiring entity and this whole line of thought from the east folks is (unfortunately) moot.

I'm really glad to see the merger turning out so well from an integration standpoint. What's next? Union thugs beating up on rivals? Oh wait... :p

This topic is as broken and tired. The longer both sides fight about crap like this, the harder it will be to move forward.

Westies...take it from the Easties..let's move on.

Easties...SHAME on ALL of you!! We have all gone through less than desirable mergers that had this kind of fighting. Put on your memory cap folks. LET IT GO!!

WHO CARES!!

Geez, moderators, how much round and round and round must this thread endure? You guys must LOVE S&M after THIS torture.

Yeh, you guys were quite the POWERHOUSE.

was acquired by America West Holdings Corp.

Gee, thanks for saving USAirways (as if you wrote the check yourself) I'm sure they really appreciate it.

Thanks also for having the most crappy set of contracts in the industry. You really are the concessionary poster children for the entire aviation industry. Why, even in freight, we get to have your awful, well EVERYTHING, contract waved about as the management millstone to drag us down even lower.

Thanks again!

US Airways CEO is upbeat on progress
By Thomas Olson
TRIBUNE-REVIEW

America West Holdings would have declared bankruptcy in 2005 if it hadn't merged with US Airways Group last May, said its CEO at US Airways' annual meeting Wednesday.

America West Would have filed chapter 11

What does this mean one way or the other? Let's say (just hypothetical) that HP wasn't in any trouble and swooped in and "saved" US Airways. What would that mean?? What difference would it make?

Or reverse the issue and say US Airways swooped in and saved both airlines single handed. What would that mean?

Am I missing something?

Even if (<---if if if not saying one way or ther other) HP would have been fine without the merger I think we're still gaining more faster than on our own.

Anyway I look at it I still see a win/win situation.

I think this is really about seniority. HP seems to be against DOH for everything...intergration,non-revving...so if they "saved" us, then that would justify stapling/slotting and FCFS, and all other things HP instead of US.

Stapling was never a consideration. Slotting was. Other then that I will not pour any more gasoline on this topic.
