Here you go Westies

Parker is lying he just says that to keep you easties all fuzzy warm
Only the financial guru's know the REAL truth. If AWA was in such bad shape in 2005, why were there bonuses paid out to certain pay grades??? Those were based on performance, remember?? But that was a different thread.

What is, is. What was, was.

Each and everyone of you East dreamers of date of hire need to realize you were 2 weeks from being greeters at Walmart.

You will get relative seniority and be happy about it. Stop whining West Pilots saved your pealing paint job planes and you from being a Greeter.

Top 3% over all for me.

And US Airways was "near liquidation" in early 2005.

NUF SAID!

Ain't that the truth? If America West hadn't save US Airways ass, they would have been in liquidation and out of a job! Doug Parker was looking for a merger with another airline and some of these people better be thankful that the deal with ATA fell apart. Sometimes I wish we had merged with ATA instead or another airline. The ego of some of these people especially 700. Urgh!

HP would have gotten a loan and kept on, instead they took charge, bought you guys out, gave you the first capable management you had in years and brought everyone to profitability in record time.

No HP, no US, get over it. Tempe runs the show now, and they know what they are doing.

I guess I agree with you on one point- HP did give US capable management. That is what's needed moving forward. As far as the merger money, I think you give Parker a bit too much credit. Bruce Lakefield was a Wall Street power long before this merger came along. He was a Lehman Brothers exec. for years, including CEO for much of the 90's. He had the clout to pull in the kind of cash to make US what it is today. Without the US merger, AWA had very little access cash, DP has stated as much. In the final analysis both airlines needed each other to have a strong future. The pettiness on both sides is senseless. We're all in the same boat, so grab a paddle and row...

You must not have been using your retirement time well to research this. HP did not buy US. The two airlines sought a merger and needed to attract financing from outside sources. Without those investments, it wouldn't have happened. HP did NOT have the resources to buy US, so stop spreading this rumor that US was bought by HP because it's 100% false.

BOTH airlines were facing financial problems. Whether these guys are capable management will be seen after a year or two when the operations are truely merged.

Okay...now it's turning into a F/A vs. Pilot. Why is 700 always instigating a war between employees? what's his agenda? I don't get it.

Remember.... everytime your flight attendants hands you your crewmeal.

Because he's a bitter IAM employee whom knows his union sold him out ! Then his union turned around and now represents the contracted out employees whom replaced his group !

Ask all the former and current US/East Executives who got paid big bonuses when US was in Chapter 11 twice.
