Future of 50 seat RJs

We know better than most that US Airways is one of the least desirable airlines to work for. I've known it for over 20 years now. Better start looking for another avenue to that 737 type rating. If mainline hired you tomorrow, you wouldn't move out of the E190 before the last 737 left the property.

So much for THAT grand scheme.

That's not true at all. I am a new hire and I was stuck in the 737. I wanted the E-190 for the phl base but I got the 737 in dca. And the rest of my class got the airbus. So new hires are going straight onto group 2 aircraft

I suppose that's a good way for the company to lock pilots, F/Os especially, onto the E190. If they offer 737 and 320 slots to new hires, they never have to open a bid that E190 pilots could take. Typical.

At any rate, since you are flying the 737, perhaps you can tell us when the last 737 is scheduled to leave the east property?

I heard a story last week about a new 737 guy arguing with the Captain over the fuel slip. The Capt. had the fuel slip clipped over on his side with the flight number and required fuel loads on it, like 99% of them do, and this new F/O was argueing over how it had to be on his side.

Everybody in the group that this was related to shook their head and said something to the effect of "What an idiot" That wasn't one of the dudes in your class was it? Also had a training department type on the jump seat that said he had a newhire class that seemed to have an issue with arriving on time, said they came shuffeling in 20 or 30 mins late everyother day etc. Nice way to have a short career around here.

If it was not you, welcome to USAirways. It's not the greatest right now but not bad overall. If it was your class, would not want to be you guys, a quick way to get the wrong people looking at you real close.

Not the way it works...

It'll take a few years for all of them to be replaced since there are 40 -400's plus the handful of east -300's that'll be left at the end of this year. Unless the fleet min numbers change...

Nope and nope. A new hire is supposed to act like a mouse and not raise one eye brow and I believe I'm pretty good at that. Maybe the dude in question was transitioning from another aircraft and not a new hire. I can't see anyone in my class being that brazen.

Welcome to the company.

Welcome to the company.

IMHO

a fuel slip is a fuel slip...

many times the fuel guy hands the slip to me the f/a... so wtf????
i walk into the flight deck and hand it off... as what the fuel guy does...

whom ever is in there takes it... never ever do I hear a question???

WHat is up... ????? dont fight... please we all need to get along...

Your anger is misdirected.

Many of us at Mainline came up thru the commuters, we all had to make that choice of taking a pay cut to start at Mainline... You are not the first and wont be the last..

but your vitriol is again misguided...

I would like nothing more than to bring back the RJ's to mainline..
ALPA squashed that idea once already back in the Gangwal(sp) era. All it cost were jobs! Another reason not to have them as reps.
