Dave said the magic word "furloughs". I'm not inclined to give anything up if I know that more of our "best assests" are going to be put on the street. Not to mention we are closing 5 cto's by the end of April. Sorry for all those involved in that. LGA(59th st), BWI,YYZ.RDU, and DAY.

:( What will close next? Rumors starting in INT resv that PIT resv will be closing??? When will it all stop? Im so sick and tired of all these games. Just close the place down. Make a decision and go with it. Stop beating around the bush!

Folks:

If you weren't paying attention during the class presentation (webcast) this week, let me refresh you on some facts:

1. In order to cut costs, the use of technology such as the web site, airport kiosks, and gate ticket readers are inevitable. What this means is less need for personnel in reservations and at the airport to assist customers. This will most likely lead to furloughs. Get used to it. It is the way of the future in the entire airline industry and if you choose not to accept it, find something else to do with your life as opposed to whining or dragging everyone else down with your attitude.

2. Pay most likely will decrease in the short term for all union employees. If this is something that alarms you, then you need to find something else to do with your life.

3. Voting NO to concesionary contracts will do NOTHING except cause the company to close the doors which will make it a certainty that your pay and medical benefits will no longer be provided.

These things are inevitable and continuing with the "concession stand is closed" follies will do nothing except make the unions look like a bunch of spoiled little kids who want to take their ball and go home because they are not getting their way on the football field.

I think you may have that backwards....the employee's are not the spoiled little kids. Come out of that magical office a in CCY and look around.....the employee's have given and given!!!!!! Its Dave and the other Bozo's who keep threatning to shut the doors unless they get what they want.

Very soon we will proudly be the "lowest paid" in the industry. I am not pleased about that by I refuse to give Dave and his band of Crooks the satisfaction of quitting. I am staying till the end and with this "crack" managment team it will not be long.........

Most of the real employee's of USAir will find other jobs but those of you in upper managment may have a problem......that will look good on your new resume..."I once managed USAirways....right into the ground".

Based on the performance of the current management, it's very likely that voting for concessions will do nothing except cut one's own pay until the doors close.

As has been mentioned, many facets of the "plan" could have been implemented (or started) during or immediately after Chapter 11. That they have not speaks directly to the lack of acumen in the executive suite at CCY.

Why bet your future on a proven loser (in the form of Dave and company)? If I worked at US, I'd be voting no to keep my compensation "up" while I look....

And voting YES will guarentee what???? Giving Dave a little more time to pack his golden parachute. <_<

Cx4,

I think there's a way to put this in terms even the elitists can understand.

Would you put 20% of your income in U stock?

Well, employees have come to the same conclusion.

Well, not nothing. It'd lengthen the time until the doors close.

It's not the same question. If I choose to put 20% of my income into US Airways stock (which hasn't been "U" in months), it has no impact on my future earnings, aside from the performance of the stock itself. If you choose to do so, it has an impact on your future earnings, in addition to the performance of the stock itself.

Very different value propositions, with very different results.

Make book on this....Furloughs are already in motion , or should I say still in motion since the webcast.

PIT has lost a number of positions in maintenance with the end of the de-icing season being upon us...as well as the loss of working on the baggage system there.

CLT has lost 5 positions in maintenance within the last 48 hours due in part to the 2nd shift composite shop crew being abolished. Rumors are that more will be lost off the 1st shift crew , if in fact it hasn't already taken place?

Rumors are floating as to the security of maintenance position in the INT Landing Gear shop being affected. INT would then be left pretty much with only jobs in the Plating Shop which is "Grandfathered" due to EPA rules...and cannot simply be relocated on a whim in light of that. Yet who's to say another violation of the CBA won't be made?...and plating goes the way of the other outsourced work we are seeing already.

Rumors are abundant as to added cuts in both PIT and CLT in regards to the back shops that support our Base Maintenance operations. The Instrument Shop in PIT seems to be the next rumored area for cuts. Keep in mind the operative term of rumor in this case.

Four mainline flights in new station worked by express....

Pay cuts.......

You havn't done a thing with it and you want MORE!

I'll see you at the table in 2008!

APTech,

I am with you on that.

The way they have gotten away treating the loyal employees of U so poorly, won't give them any satisfaction of having my vote be responsible for turning over the contracts to them, ust for it to be "legal" and all in a pretty bow for them to Kill us off.

Spin Doc,

We are not the "elitists". When the doors shut, (cause they will,) there is a thing called Medical assitance by the gov. its an HMO and no co-pay or contribution. As long as you have an address, you can qualify for medical assitance just for the medical card. Unemployment for most is max. and that will hold us over until we find other employment. It not the greatest, but will allow for employees to transition into new employment eventually.

Like I said, bad jobs are easy to find. U will turn into one very soon, and those on the streets will soon find out, that they will be turning them over as well.

You should be getting your resume prepared so we don't hog up your job...LOL...

This managment bunch may have captured our airline and taken the employees hostage, but we are about to set ourselves FREE!!!

Chew on that!

PS: Tell Jerry Glass for his stunt this week, he just flunked his "test".

He's the main reason I just went over the cliff.

You won't be happy till this place is completely finished, and you will never blame yourself either, just like this perfect example here, you will blame your actions on another.

Your legacy will follow you.
