The guy had it off safe, probably got cocked and he bumped the trigger.....stupid is as stupid does.

So you point out that neither the author nor you are aware of free falling down and locked landing gear?
Those guns have no safeties on them. They are always "off safe" to use your misinformed words.

De-cocked is on safe bucko.....

Federal Flight Deck Officers are trained on the use of firearms, use of force, legal issues, defensive tactics, the psychology of survival and program standard operating procedures.

So this clown must have been looking out the window that day?

Can't decock them either, unless you unload it. Now, what else can I clear up for you?

Ok,you are correct...my error.

Clear this up....why with a DAO does one need to have a live round in the chamber?

In your defensive perimeter of the cockpit, one trigger pull and its showtime.

In the grave instant that would require a defensive response....drawing the weapon

and pulling the trigger would let one be chambered while coming on target.

Much like the wild west six shooter.....on safe= none in chamber.

Yes, one has to be chambered, or it takes two hands to cock it, not to mention the 1 to 2 seconds of valuable time required.

Why be armed if you're not ready to use it to save lives?

Gee, maybe that's why they train them, you think? They don't just hand them a gun and say, "shoot the bad guys".

DAO operates just like a wheel gun oldie.......as the trigger is being pulled the

empty chamber is being filled and goes off just like a revolver then becomes an automatic.

As the gun is drawn from the holster, trained on target and the trigger is pulled...

its showtime and everyone was in the presence of a safely carried firearm to that instant.
