It appears that before long the company could be laying off thousands of employees in maintenance related departments. This would include managers, clerks, supervisors, planners, utility, stores, engineering, purchasing, mechanics, etc...

With this work not being done in house what will you do?

--Will you go down without a fight?

--The courts ruling could effect other groups contracts as well.

Call it what you want, but for several workers their days appear to be numbered. I would like to know of their plans.

Itrade: OK I am an idiot. What the "H:" does FUD mean. And where did you get your saying about T.Xidas???????? :angry:

US Airways, in ther canned reply said:
We are prepared to quickly arbitrate this matter as our collective focus must be to meet the travel plans of our customers without interruption."

I hope that the I.A.M. stands their ground and refuses to arbitrate.

Fear, Uncertainity, Doubt, {The same thing the company has been spreading for the last several months.}

Thanks Pitguy. And Itrade, can you show me a post or some infor where T.Xidas said this. Proof if you don't mind. <_<

ktflyhome,

The partial quote that ITrade uses as his signature is from the Sunday, Feb 1st, Post-Gazette article entitled "Faces on the Flight Line". Here's the whole quote:
"Liars and thieves are not representative of this management and is not a valid statement ....
I prefer disingenuous and misrepresentative."

Since you chose to start an entire me thread to spread your FUD, let me reply to you here too.

in the short term, it won't. There are no reductions in the number of mtc tracks planned. The company only contracted to do the first 10 airbuses. This gives the company and the IAM time to hammer out a deal, get the necessary tooling, parts and training. It is still my feeling that this work does belong in house. It is time for the 2 parties to sit down, hammer out a deal and stop parkign airplanes.

The AB work was NEW. We still have the exsisting Boeing work and the lesser checks on the AB. There should be NO reductions in the immediate future.

A breath of reality ! The way most employees deal with this type stuff is exactly this way . The FUD that certain union members post are no better than those that they trash the company for. The facts !
