Early Out Package

maybe Little will walk into the room with his superman outfit. Too bad the letter "S" doesn't stand for superman.........

you can fill in the blank.........the "S" stands for??????

Exactly what purpose does childish remarks like that serve at a serious time like this?

Simple Plan to save jobs and Overhaul

#4 New hires will be on new payscale and health plans that wiil allow a transition to MRO payrates/cost for overhaul.
The race to the bottom continues. Screw the next generation, at least you can keep yours!

What will that be called "D" scale?

That sounds like something the TWU would embrace. Keep as many as possible on the payroll (paying dues).

Some of my ideas are no brainers.
Like the early out.
The rest are a different story.

Let's see what the Masters come up with.

My ideas are all basically to be win/win. Current employees do not take near the hit, and future employess choose to accept those terms or not. I do believe that the plan would create the potential for huge 3rd party work profits within overhaul and creat jobs in the long run.
if AA follows in Delta's footsteps, your right, but I don't believe that plan is in the works for TUL. I believe AA wants some control of our maintenance with MRO wages. Not good news for the remaining 1600 amt's. I hope AA bites on the early out proposal.....I just don't see it happening in BK.

The race to the bottom is happening as a result of global competition in overhaul maintenance and bankruptcy laws that prevent any failing carrier from ever leaving the industry.

My plan is nothing more than a no other way out plan.

Like I said before...

The only thing that makes this plan appealing, is what the alternative looks like.

Got a better idea? Post it! I would love to see your plan.

A good name for my plan would be "HARD TO SWALLOW SURVIVAL"

Another child loose on the boards!
Please feel free to post your alternate plan for us to view and debate.

The only thing is going to accompish is for disgruntled people 60 to 65 year old living the premises,
most of the younger disgruntled ones will stay.
you will need a very large amount of people retiring to see any savings.

If the company does offer an early out at this point I'll be a major bonehead move on their part.

IF the TWU early out plan submitted were to be accepted, Facilities Maintenace would need to first order new bearings for the Turnstiles, because there would be so many leave the bearings would fail within days.

I disagree.
On the other hand most that are getting ready to leave, will like us to think otherwise.
The turnstiles work fine right now, why not save facilities maintainance the parts and labor and leave now.
Not to worry, there will be plenty of unhappy employees left.

Is it true last week 800 have already submitted retirement in TULE?

Thats the rumor.
I bet there is a mad dash tomorrow by the twu members that put in for it the last few weeks , for delaying retirement.

I heard there were so many applicants for retirement last week. That HR was turning them away.

The company already has all the numbers for those putting in for retirement. If they are so many that HR is turning them away the number must be very large. If its 500, that's 37,500,000 that the company will save by not taking the package from the union. They know who is leaving. I should say this really makes the union and little look stupid but thats a given.
