Displacements Recinded

If there is a recall, will I as an INVOL be offered a position at mainline before someone junior to me who is active at MAA?

Thanks for your help.

Great job Teddy! Your perseverance has paid off and all the f/a's out on the line really appreciate your hard work!

Where is the "official" notice on this? There is nothing on The Hub or the AFA web sites that I can find.

I do understand if you were involuntarily furloughed from mainline you return at the pay rate you left which is now less due to new pay rates, but if you worked at Mid-Atlantic is your time served there honored by mainline since it is the same certificate and in essance the same company ???

Don't count your money yet! PITbull & I have gone at it on here before you started posting and let's just say it was the internet equivilent of the "Thrilla in Manilla".

We finally sort of agreed to disagree. Why do you think we have this grudging respect for one another?

I think I joined before both of you and my first post was the day I joined of course the rest were well after that but it doesn't mean I didn't check in from time to time.
That being said not only all my money would be on PITbull I would go fully margin myself and take out a second.

I didn't understand you last paragraph.

Good job, Teddy!

For those of you who think you might be better off without a union, here's proof how valuable a good leader is to the membership!

If Labor just had more leaders like Teddy, there might be a slim chance of maintaining a middle class in this country.

I was wondering the same thing. I am at MAA, but, do we stay and wait until our position can be filled or do we just transition over since we are recurrent and have our fingerprints and all that security stuff done.

Yes.

Thank you PITbull :) I can't wait to come back to mainline, even if it is LGA. I would be grateful to have a job flying again. Not a lot of options when your career is flying.

It will be nice to have you back. Even in LGA.

After a few months dealing with the realities of this crewbase, let me know if you still feel the same. The people here are great. The rest is pretty dismal, especially if you commute and/or are on reserve.

PITbull,

I have a question for you...I was told..rumor..since I have not seen it on paper nor heard it from your mouth, that you very recently told some F/A's that if you pass on the recall that you are resigning from the company. Now, I know this can not be true since in the contract the company has to get to the most junior F/A before you have to come back to U. So, what is up with this little rumor. Let us nip it in the but now..because it is a buzzing around.

Someone else called me today and said they heard the same thing..still have not heard a response from PITbull yet on that question?

Everything you did at MAA is basically gone. You will start right where you left off. Your time at MAA DOES NOT count towards longevity. The only thing it counts for is your travel pass.

Example:
If you were furloughed last June with 3 1/2 years (4 year payscale) and accepted a spot at MAA, you will start BACK at mainline with 3 1/2 years. You will however hit your next payscale 6 months later (in this example). Sick time does not come with you either, so if you plan on going back, use it up. Vacation will presumably be paid out to you.

Section 19-2 G. May 2000 contract

A furloughed f/a who fails to accept a recall where there are NO MORE junior f/as on furlough shall be considered to have resigned from the company.

Translation: You can pass a "recall", but once the co. goes through the entire list of Invol. furloughees, and then comes back to you and you refuse, you will have been deemed to have resigned.

To expand on what PITBULL said, you can pass multiple times. As long as there is someone junior to you to come back, you can keep passing and passing and passing until you are the most junior person left out on furlough. When you are the most junior one.....the next time you must come back or resign.

I would assume however, that if you pass and someone junior to you accepts a recall, you will NOT begin accruing longevity for pay/vacation purposes even though your seniority could hold a position.

PITBULL, can you agree? If this holds not to be a true statement, what would be correct?
