Did everyone leave?

"Team TWU" doesn't know about FM; they give scope away long before it has to be invoked.

Pee Wee league response. You really lost your touch big time.

Isn't that the truth, they been doing it for over 3 decades at AA alone.

Your silence is deafening. Can you please tell us how much money you have given over the years to your owners here? How much more money could this huckster connive if he were ever able to get his grubby little greedy hands on the AA Mechanics?

Here’s a picture of your owner.

I havent seen an effective organizing drive at delta for the ramp. Mechanics could also be interested.
But dont you think layoffs are coming? I wonder if these airlines can stay out of bankruptcy?
When do they start asking for paycuts?
Members wanna know.
Fwiw, i like our fleet contract and imo i dont think we should give up cuts at least or until in bankruptcy or in 2 years w a buyout that i can take! Lol. Bias indeed!
Hey Tim, another update from our ND gives a better picture of the airline mechanics looking for AMFA representation. We all know AA is seeking AMFA again, but some folks didn't know about Spirit, JetBlue and Sun Country seeking representation by AMFA. AA's mechanics may wanna step it up a bit before all these smaller airlines jump first. Makes great sense that Spirit is wanting to get AMFA prior to the merger with Frontier. JB and SC are probably the next two to do a possible merger with someone so their moves make total sense as well.
Here's the update with the current airlines working on bringing in AMFA representation;

NATIONAL PRESIDENT UPDATE - FEBRUARY 2022

AMFA Locals and Members
National President’s Monthly Update for February 2022
March 12, 2022
Dear Members:
As stated last month, AMFA aims to grow our membership, footprint, and visibility in 2022. There is an organic movement to be represented by a craft-specific, independent union who recognizes our responsibility, relevance, and professional skillset in the industry and fights for our best interests at our respective airlines. JetBlue Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and American Airlines are just a few of the mechanic groups who have joined in this movement and expressed their interest in AMFA for this very reason. AMFA. Current grassroots organizing efforts demonstrate the facts.
AMFA will continue to be the voice of Mechanics and Related employees by leading aviation industry changes and taking a proactive approach to protect your work, ability to earn, and improving wages and benefit. AMFA is "single-handedly responsible for a boost in union-negotiated wages," writes Bloomberg Law. AMFA is the only labor union that constitutionally limits itself to representing the craft or class of mechanics and related employees to solidify our focus on the best interest of our members and to avoid conflicts of interest. Unfortunately, we face many challenges because our carriers, government entities, and other labor groups water down our craft and class, and in doing so, make the battle to protect our craft that much harder.
AMFA National Officers and Representatives have conducted system-wide station visits to educate members about the AMFA PAC, the first and only political action committee (PAC) representing aircraft mechanic and related issues. AMTs have been degraded for decades, and AMFA PAC is a powerful tool we can use to promote our profession in the legislative arena. Please consider joining AMFA PAC and make our voice louder. Please visit the Government Affairs Updates page of the AMFA National Website for further details.
In addition to expressing our voice within the industry, we continue to strive for the best communication practices to reach our membership. Tools are in place for our members to acquire AMFA and industry related updates via the National website, AMFA App, social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and we are excited to announce the recent launch of the AMFA Insider Podcast. Thank you for your continued support in this membership outreach and communication campaign. We also continue to conduct station and GMM visits system-wide.
AMFA leaders and legal counsel continue to meet regarding the potential vaccination mandate at each of our carriers and the developments in court rulings. AMFA continues to express that all COVID related mandates are subject to mandatory collective bargaining, and all Locals are prepared to grieve and arbitrate any violations of the CBA regarding conditions of employment. Furthermore, our government affairs team is collaborating with our carriers to have influence in achieving OSHA standards/guidelines that yield reasonable accommodations for such mandates.
The Association will provide various training sessions for union officers and representatives this year. Shop Representative Training is scheduled for April 19-20 in Atlanta, and we plan to hold future sessions in the vicinities of DAL and/or PHX later in the year. Professional Standards training was conducted on February 28-March 2, and more than 40 AMFA members participated. Anyone interested training to assist with workplace conflict resolution, whether it be amongst members or involve other workgroups on property, please contact your Local Safety and Standards Chair to attend this invaluable training. Additionally, preparations are under way for Local Secretary and Treasurer Training later this year.
AMFA–Alaska Airlines (AS) ALRs continue working with the Company and Arbitrator on the Roster Apps Arbitration case, meeting with the Company regarding COVID vaccination mandate, and hiring experienced and qualified aircraft technicians in ANC, SEA and PDX. In addition, we are happy to announce that on February 16, 2022, the National Mediation Board (NMB) issued its decision to accrete the Maintenance Controllers into the Mechanics and Related class and craft at Alaska and therefore they are now represented by AMFA. AMFA sends a warm welcome to the Alaska Maintenance Controllers.
Horizon Air (QX) also continues to hire new AMTs, yet they are losing more than they are hiring. The Company is having major problems attracting and retaining qualified, experienced aircraft maintenance professionals. From February 10-19, AMFA leaders visited Portland, Boise, Spokane, Seattle, Paine Field, and Redmond to inform the membership about how the recent TA was reached, to answer questions, and to hear concerns. The AMFA-Horizon Air (QX) Tentative Agreement (TA) Ratification Referendum will conclude on March 15, 2022. Any eligible member who has not received voting instructions should contact the Director of Administration at 720-744-6629 by March 14.
AMFA-Southwest Airlines (SWA) ALRs continue working with the Company in response to the COVID vaccination mandate. SWA has stated they are in wait-and-see mode based on how the courts rule on this fluid matter. SWA also continues to hire to fill positions with experienced, qualified aircraft technicians to achieve adequate staffing levels across the system.
I want to encourage you to recognize the importance of the responsibilities and work you perform day-to-day: increase awareness of performing your jobs safely; maintaining compliance; being aware of your surroundings; and above all, working safely side-by-side with your co-workers. I ask you to please continue to be vigilant and to stay engaged with your union and officers. In doing so, monitor your respective carrier page of the AMFA National website for further airline specific details: Alaska Airlines Updates, Horizon Air Updates, Southwest Airlines Updates. For further information regarding AMFA and the airline industry, please visit your local website and/or the AMFA National Website at www.amfanational.org.
Our most determined efforts will only succeed with your support and participation – please stay engaged and informed.
Sincerely,

I hear United also wants to come home to old AMFA. They said they all miss Lee. Oh and Delta Mechanics are going to file sometime next week or the week after. It’s a lock even if Dawg says Delta MX doesn’t need a Union.

Happy times for AMFA and Lee as the money 💰 will be rolling in. Here you can read the latest update for yourself.

And I’m sure AMFA/Seeham have it figured out much better for the next time than this one. Fingers crossed 🤞

I'll be curious to see what happens at NK; impending mergers have a funny way of suddenly making things more urgent.

Yes sir, and kinda my point of bringing them up at a time when the merger talks are flowing in the industry. You definitely don't want to be the only group not being represented by a union when all the other groups are at just one of the carriers, especially at the acquiring carrier who usually has the most over control of the merger of the groups.

Anyone surprised that AMFA'S new PAC is being run by a guy constantly being cited by the Federal Elections Committee for campaign finance impropriety?

The IAM snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at DL. One blunder after another. It was tough to watch.
If layoffs are coming, no one’s told DL; we’re hiring all over the system.

Negative. I was sure that would happen, but once the government aid was approved, it was off the table pretty quickly.
True and any new drive will be quite difficult given the current organizing techniques. Same as Jetblue. Same mistakes are being made for targeted crafts that will have zero represented eligible voters. The mistakes wont be with iam organizers since they hired some decent ones, nonetheless organizing non union is everything about techniques and they just dont have the skillset or strategy of how to win because they think they know. Jetblue will stay in resigning mode forever under current outdated techniques. They are suppose to restart delta but imo only to satisfy aflcio organizing expenditures.
Actually they could do jetblue at half the cost but twice as efficient. And the guy responsible for the previous delta drives was a super guy but failed to use winning techniques. Nobody within the iam has organized a big exclusive non union craft since airtran. Airtrain was the only campaign which was approved for modern techniques and it was so successful it even grabbed reservations and passenger service.

They could have the best organizers in the world; won't matter one bit if they keep using the same flawed strategies/campaign models.

. I really like the direction that the iam is headed in but they decided to keep the same terrible organizing techniques. Just awful still. They will never get JB or delta with such awfulness but JB and DL deserve a voice. Sad. Same ole curbside organizing.
I set up the entire initial strategy of airtran, ua ramp, ua pax and it was so successful but everybody fell all over themselves for credit and to do so they stepped all over me and another. Im ok with it all, and in a twisted way, it all worked out with the right leadership in place but now its back to dopey organizing. JB will never be organized under current iam organizing. And the IAM never ask how. So, its just going to continue being yearly signups. Lol. At least the JB and DL employees thankfully have an iam commitment. Even awful organizing drives make management back off a bit. Kudos to the iam for endless support.

Lee is a great friend of mine and I really need to call him and see how he is doing. Super good guy.
As far as amfa, in organizing, they do far better with less, than the iam. But the iam/aflcio is far far far greater politically and amfa has failed to understand this and rejected key techniques to push them to victory. I even reached out to amfa a couple years ago when it was organizing AA. It had a window of a couple months to get a signup in some fleet service crafts that the company claimed was mechanic craft. I knew dozens of deicers and lav guys who would have signed. I had them lined up. But the lead amfa organizer wasnt a professional and very arrogant and said he will be fine and get them booted from the list. I liked the guy but he has personally screwed up the AA amfa drive twice now because he simply doesnt listen and he thinks he knows stuff that he has zero clue on. Long story short, they ended up less than 50 cards short. Out of 1400 fleet, no way I could have got him tons but i had key guys that could have easily got him 300.
Im ready to retire and im alot more laid back now but if the amfa had iam smarts and politics, and if the iam had a more personable amfa organizing campaigns and got rid of the curbside 9 to 5 awful techniques then both unions would be incredibly successful inorganizing the industry targets.
