Delta loads new DAL flights

Just curious if Delta has refunded all the tickets they were selling?   This will certainly be a big burden on a lot of folks who were counting on making those flights.  But look at it this way.  They will move over to one of the 2, SWA or VX, and end up saving more money anyway.  Our CEO has put out that they will have an award soon...

I imagine they'll just be rebooked on DFW flights, with the option of a refund.

DL's flights from DAL after the WA changes are still available for sale as they were originally published.

given that dl lost the dal  id imagine theyll have to  refund the travellers  or allow them to fly out of DFW without penalty

There is always the "possibility" that DL will talk UA into sharing gate space.  UA's schedule has not been announced, and at it's current level they certainly do not require 2 full time gates.  Also as real estate is at a prime and VX is not able to start full use of both gates right off of the bat, DL may split the gate usage with VX.

They haven't had much time to change. Of course they may be looking at any possible legal action also.

True. I am betting ATL still get DAL flights. The rest are most likely done.

airLUVer, you may very well be correct.  I have hinted in the past that the city of Dallas, as well as, the DOJ may very well award two different airlines to share the 2 gates in question at LF.  I know I have said it as jokes and funny in the past, but, it very well could happen, as it is part of the W/A appeal that airlines could in fact share gates if more of them were interested.  I honestly don't think this will happen as it would hinder the growth of the two airlines as they would be even more restricted to grow due to sharing the gates, and restrictions of the number of flights out of LF.  But, you never know...

I think the possibility is very high that DL would challenge (no promise there) but the possibility is high that if DL is completely pushed out of DAL and if there is no recourse for any common use gates that carriers other than the DOJ's appointees have access to DAL, that DL would pursue legal recourse

They can pull down inventory in minutes if they have determined they are not going to be able to serve DAL.

But it also says that the theory that some have espoused that DL is selling seats illegally isn't something they fear...

and so far as we know the UA gates are still in play.  DL and UA both have some things they would like from each other.....

1) DL doesn't have a lease today
2) DAL has no common use gates today

Where exactly is there any grounds for legal action?

Don't bother responding. We have 50+ pages of speculation on that which have yet to be backed up with any real action by DL...

you would have to ask DL what grounds they MIGHT use....remember I don't work for them.

if you have read 50 pages of what I read, then you probably have some idea of what I THINK they could use.  DL indicated on the day of the DOJ's divestiture announcement their belief that the DOJ had overstepped its boundary.

As I have also noted, DL will likely exhaust all of its efforts to serve DAL before it decides what it will do.

The fact that an ACTIVE DL employee agrees that there might be grounds for legal action means it isn't just my hairbrained idea... .

Delta will still have options at LF even though they won't get the gates up for bid.  If I am not mistaken Express Jet owns the 2 other gates at LF.  Delta could work out an agreement with them to lease from them.  I believe United is doing it now, unless they are leasing from AA, but I am not sure which one they are leasing from rather it be E.J. or AA currently.  If Delta wants gates bad enough (which I am sure they do) then they could lease 2 other gates, the price to lease them may get higher since they are being used currently and may be under contract, therefore there may well be a waiting period to obtain the gates in a timely manner.  There are still ways for Delta to get LF gates, the question is are they willing to take the time and spend the cost to obtain them???

I believe that the WA says WN/UA/AA must provide room if another carrier wishes to fly into Love.

they are United's gates, which they got from CO. (AA/CO/WN got gates at DAL, 2 for AA, 2 for CO 16 for WN.)

And its not as simple as "just" paying. Southwest is scared of Delta and doesn't want to see DL coming in and kicking WNs butt on yet another ATL route. So its highly unlikely they can lease any gates from WN.
Then you have UA, well I personally see United trying to grow in DAL (LAX,SFO, EWR, ORD) thus not having any room for Delta.

the sad thing about this, when they shoe is on the other foot your guys cry to the .gov how it isn't fair. (read DCA/LGA slots) yet now, WN should have complete control and a monopoly from DAL......Ah yes, still the a$$ holes of the airline industry. I just hope your cost keep rising, Karma and all.

funny there wt   I have never ever though wn was scared of dl   now u say they are   I highly doubt wn is scared of dl
