tired , welcome to the board. I hope you find your answers here just remember its one persons opinions . I follow this board it doesn't get alotwhats the general concensus of the membership think of the CWA . I work for Piedmont and the CWA has been promising us representation
for a number of years now . I signed a card about a year ago and haven't heard anything.. a Customer Service friend at Mainline says we aren't missing much
since they aren't to happy with them in my city
I feel we need to DUMP the CWA.. let us go with the TWU..
The teamsters are not the best choice.
A very good point indeed. Switching can lead to no union at all. Frustration with CWA runs deep and wide, I have no good answer. CWA members deserve better. To switch unions you have to decertify the one you have. Then it is open season on Customer Service for the company.
There is no decertification process under the RLA, you have to just get 35% A-Cards signed and a vote will be held between both unions. To switch unions you have to decertify the one you have. Then it is open season on Customer Service for the company.
Fleet took a long time but they replaced the entrenched leadership in the IAM.
If you can't fix the CWA from within, you take a big chance going with no union at all.
It takes years to get a new union and negotiate a contract.

I think there are 4 rather large unions who broke away for AFL-CIO.
One was SEIU and another IBT?????
