john john,
Do you ever post your own thoughts/work? Seems you always copy and paste from CWA and other websites. Is CWA devoting the same resources and efforts to obtain a contract for the Verizon workers that they are at an (unsuccessful) campaign at AA?

Josh

Just trying to inform the board and YOU

Your the fat cat banker with undeserved wealth.
Flaming Flaming Flaming get over your self and move on

Negotiate, bargain, have a voice like the rest of the front line workers. Do you negotiate bargain and have a voice in your work place. How are the fat cat big boys at CHASE doing by the way. AT&T and Verizon union employees have some of the best benefits and pay in American. Who are you trying to kid?

My compensation is based on my performance. Period. I don't get automatic raises and kick and scream to get what I want from my employer. If you're referring to the "whale" trader, Iksil for JPM in London, yes they are making changes in management. Of course, when management changes occur there are severance agreements in place set by a compensation committee.

There you go. All union employees at AA should get rid of the unions

Finally you say something that actually makes sense.

DOJ has no standing in this issue, but given Herr Holder's selective enforcement of the Constitution, I'm not surprised that they'd speak out on something they have no business inserting themselves into. They won't defend the Defense of Marriage Act, even though it is law, but they'll go after Arizona for trying to enforce laws that exist at the Federal level. They tolerate Obama's illegal alien relatives (an aunt & an uncle) yet investigate Sheriff Joe for having the audacity to not provide Spanish interpreters for non-English speaking illegal aliens arrested for crimes on the streets of Phoenix.

The whole concept of having a contract is for pay and benefits, only management and directors and the compensation board are exempt from bankruptcy. That my friend is a double standard... End of story. No one will ever respect that...

Chris, they're hardly exempt. They lost the total value of their stock options when the stock fell below the strike price, and it evaporated once the company filed. Gone. No recourse. For some, that's 30-50% of their compensation from the past couple years. That's the risk management takes with variable comp. No risk, no reward.

poor fellas cant live on the meager 400000-600000 $$ hell maybe we should start a fund for them, I'd hate to see them suffer. No its not class envy but if you ask me I think those base wages are plenty for them all these execs making millions is crazy, at all companies yes I say greedy bastards.

600000 a year equals 50000 a month who in the hell cant live on that a month

So you exec defenders are saying they need at least 2mil or 166000 a month to live

This is the problem with this country right now the workers dont get sheet and the big boys get way to much destroying the middle class

Don't read too much into what I said -- I don't have any more sympathy for the guys in the 35% tax bracket than you do.

I'd guess that fewer than 100 people at AA are in the 35% tax bracket (taxable income over $388,350 per year), and excluding pilots, probably fewer than 200 in the 33% tax bracket ($178,650 to $388,350).

Grab your torches and pitchforks if you have to, but a pay cut is a pay cut, especially if you have obligations based on what your take-home pay was in 2008 or 2009.

DOJ has no "standing" in federal matters

Federal courts enjoy the sole power to interpret the law, determine the constitutionality of the law, and apply it to individual cases.

The DOJ is part of the Executive Branch. They do not get to interpret the law, determine the constitutionality of the law, or apply it to individual cases.

The difference being that when we exit BK they will start awarding stock to most of the fine individuals to make up for what they lost but not for those of us that actually work for a living. And when you and your REP friends get thru giving 90% of the wealth to 10% of the people we will all be out of a job and no I am not a Dem I am a Ind would not piss on either of them if they where on fire.

I’m sorry I thought they enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law
