And your still ignoring why did the CWA not want the agents to vote and choose between the CWA and IBT and caved to US and what us offered in a post merger CBA and did the agents even vote on the the CBA that the company put in place after the merger with the IBT representing the West and the CWA the East.
Didn’t need a vote had a transition agreement every body in the merger fell under the existing CWA contract with major improvements to American West agents and good improvements to US agents the snapback to per bankrupisty CBA work out nice

The IAM National Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan in all three of the IAM's CBA with US.

A 401k is not a pension plan.

Can the company terminate a 401k and turn it over to the PBGC?

Does the company pay a tax on the 401k to the PBGC to help fund the PBGC?

And you know the CWA does not have a defined benefit plan in its CBA with US.

You know exactly what I meant.

And you avoided about how long Andy worked for US, how many passengers did he check in and how many reservations did he make?

How could he do that in between delivering packages for UPS?
Maybe UPS Teamsters labor leaders should negotiate US mechanic contract. How smart are they? How are those employees contract over at UPS

And the Trustees can reduce the accrual rate of future benefits and cut existing benefits and time they want

How many mechanics are there at UPS compared to US?

And you cant compare a cargo operation to a passenger airline.

The IBT in the airline industry has failed.

Voted out of IBT at WN, and allows unlimited outsourcing at UA and CO and WN.

Keep avoiding whats poised to you.

The IAM at US does more maintenance in-house than the IBT at CO/US and at AMFA at WN and non-union carriers like DL and B6.

So you still havent answered about the 401k that I asked of you.

But hey, your the one who isnt answering cause you know your wrong, and its easy for you just to admit it.

So please explain to me how a 401k is a pension?

Still waiting.

So if a CWA agent at US doesnt have a 401k, where does the match come in?

Can US terminate a 401k and turn it over to the Pension Benefit Guarantee Company?

And why does a CWA represented employee at US have to use their own money to have a 401k, thereby reducing their take home pay and the IAM three different work groups dont because they have a Defined Benefit Pension Plan and dont use their own money to fund it?

A 401k is not a pension plan.

Semantics, nothing else. DB, DC, 401K - all are vehicles for a worker's retirement.

Can the company terminate a 401k and turn it over to the PBGC?

Can the company freeze a DB plan and turn it over to the PBGC? No. Does that mean a DB plan isn't a pension plan?

Does the company pay a tax on the 401k to the PBGC to help fund the PBGC?

Nope. Does the company pay a tax on a DC plan to the PBGC? Nope. So by your logic a DC plan isn't a pension?

I swear, 700, you argue about the most asinine things that make no real difference in the real world.

They don’t have a match it’s a employer contribution 401k

You dont understand it do you?

If an employee doesnt open a 401k with US they dont get a match.

A 401k is funded by pre-tax deduction from your own wages out of your paycheck, thereby lowering your take home pay, where as the IAMNPP is not funded by the employee out of their own wages.

No 401k, no company match.

Is this concept to hard for you to understand?

<sarcasm>
Dear Moderators, can we move this topic over to the USAir forum, please? ;)
</sarcasm>

UW and Jim, thank you for introducing facts to offset fantasy...
