Company Happy With 1st Airbus.

USfliboi -- your posts are reminiscent of those that followed Jim Jones and Marshall Applewhite. They had their own senses of reality, too.

Best of luck.

 Now what would be really funny .....If the IAM put on television ads telling the truth about the Alabama vendors, or start a little bit of informational picketing. Let customers know that you get what you pay for. A little bit of the "is your family safe?" routine might be helpful about now.

USJOYBOY:heres some interesting factoids you won't dismiss.... the real story here:
Ill admit it makes for great drama reading. Theres no doubt we are all on the thin line when it comes to having enough However saying that maintance is stretched so thin when in fact many stand around waiting on next flight to come in some times over an hour or more apart to me doesnt define the word stretched. I for one know our guys do a great job. But we have to adapt or we will go away . As many on here know Im not management. LOL Its hard to believe I k now that someone who does the same job as you guys could have a different opinion. Thats what it is my opinion ! Just like 99% of the post on here.

usfliboi,

You said "........when in fact many stand around waiting on next flight to come in...." I have to ask you do you work for U? The reason I am asking is U has very few line Mechanics anymore. It appears you may have an agenda and will not let facts get in your way. All I can think is you must be confused. Lord knows others have been accused of that too.

usfliboi has an agenda alright, look at him sweating and wiggling, next comes the begging.

Parties over, get over it.

USbliboi,

The only one posting on here that states a bunch of fabrication mixed in with outlandish opinion is YOU. You have no idea about the IAM or their culture. NONE, zero, nadda, zip, clue.

Hope you are polishing up your resume...cause no one is going to save your asset!
AND YOU DO ???????????????? ROFL Im am so not concerned about my resume!

Its amazing how some on here THE FAB 5 love to insult and call names. All of this because my opinion and my FACTS sources and otherwise differ from your own. I must be hitting a nerve with reality facts or the name calling wouldnt become any of you. Reality is reality, like it or not. We have all played an important roll on who this company is today. Like it or not this company has needed a good old fashioned strip down for years now. Some of you see it as rape etc etc blah blah blah. The fact is simple. We have to change ! Im not one to stick my head in the sand and most of the great employees here arent either. I commend my fellow co workers on a day to day basis who stick it out thick and thin who endure the harshness of this environment ,esp here at U! For those of you who dont constantly complain and bicker and call names your professionalism is what keeps our heads above water. As i said in the earlier post, Im sure most all of our IAM are great people in fact know many in CLt who are great workers and for all the problems we have today, come in do a great job not complain and make it just fine without high blood pressure. Thanks guys We appreciate it! Now bring it on !

Sounds like some people are on USAirways "Happy Pills". I have had the pleasure/displeasure of working with some....Get ready to burst a vessel and they pop a pill and all is good!!! Judging from some of the posts, I guess some are now addicted! Open the big door and see what is going on on the outside!!!! You may be suprised............

usfliboi,

You debated all these facts about the condition of A/C in it's days following it's release from the Bama Boyz. Yet you have either not bothered to research it as we suggested (a simple Merlin search from a friendly US mechanic would show you the history of this aircraft before and after it's return to revenue service), or you have researched it, found out we are correct, and yet decided not to ignore or retract your previous statements. Now you want to argue something else as fact, and accuse others of not recognizing things as facts.

You want maintenance outsourcing, here is what is done outside:

(1) All engine overhauls. US had PSA Airmotive in house and could provide service for others (read increased revenue), yet chose to sell Airmotive to vendor the work. This resulted in a grievance which was won by the IAM, but the work left regardless because the facility was gone.

(2) Nearly all Airbus rotable inventory. Ask AOG-N-IT how fun it is to find a no-go from item from a vendor on repair orders months overdue. Should I tell you the story about getting a vendor rep's 24 hour contact number, and getting someone sitting on the can at 3AM when trying to make a 7AM departure?

(3) Landing gear (except B737). I wonder how much the work to A/C 670's main gear corrosion cost in AOG fees, customs, and transportation alone.

Lets say the company gets it way and outsources the airframe itself. When those birds are out of our hands and cannot provide a source to rob a part from, the flight cancels and costs us more revenue. I'll make you a deal, let's outsource the work, but take away your cancellation pay. Since you are not flying on a revenue flight, you shouldn't be getting paid and creating an expense with no income. Is that fair enough for you?

Not sure what your referring to? Im not arguing anything.... My point was the whole thread has an agenda... PLAIN SIMPLE.... Im not sure you would want publicly posted our IAM mistakes would you? Im sure your not saying ours are perfecto are you? Im not into a debate with you or anyone. I saw a motive and called it. Plain simple. I still see a motive.... If the facts are what you say they are concerning this why might i ask is the media not all over it???????????? Better Yet why is IAM all over it instead of going to court ? Why arent they in the media fight ing "this war" on level playing field? Better YET why would you want this to be posted in the public eye as an dedicated loyal employee? If theres a major problem here or anything out of the ordinary why is this NOT A MAJOR EVENT other than with the select IAM members? Just really puzzles many including myself? Just wondering has anyone gone to the faa or the national media? BTW I have never said i want someone else to do the work . My point is there has to be a medium I think it has to be done if its the bottom line and has to be done. I dont wanna see more people loose jobs dude. I think its just fine and feel if you support iam spending your hard earned money going to court over and over then great. To me personally this isnt a court issue. There two large adults here, and in the end one way or the other someone will give and both regardless will be less cash!

usfliboi,

By not understanding those points listed above by N628AU and by doubting why the IAM is defending these actions in the courts shows that you truly do not realize the issues at hand. By not understanding those issues it makes it hard for someone to argue and/or discuss the points with you.

The IAM is doing the proper thing to defend the contract it has with the company. The scope of the contract is the most important part of the contract.

PIT GUY I didnt say it wasnt I said it if you think its wise to use your monies that way then cool. Im not trying to argu either. Just saying I have a feeling in the end the only outcome will be a mediated one and both will have lost lots a cash Hopefully not. I do understand the scope clause and why it is so impotant to both sides.

Funny how you seem to have a real issue with the of outsourcing the mechanics jobs. Why are you so passionate anyway? What do you have to gain, who is paying you, why all the energy in this one topic?

As far as the FAA. Help yourself by asking them yourself. Go to the local FSDO and ask a real live FAA man exactly what HE thinks. They will be glad to talk to you. Ask them questions on this issue of outsourcing work. They will explain that it requires very tight oversight because otherwise we all know the end results thanks to planes plunging into swamps and other tragedies we all read about. Don't take my word, call them up, they are in the phone book and located right in Moon Township.

AOG explained adnauseam what is required and how it's not really cost effective, but for some reason you choose to ignore the facts. You have an agenda which is beyond the so called facts you are producing here.

Funny how you have no clue what your talking about You chime in now? Read the whole thread dude! Or dudette Im not taking any " line guys" opinion 100% about a cost on system figures..... Besides if it doesnt save then it doesnt save and there wont be any outsourcing. Whatever saves this company and our jobs AS A WHOLE is what i want.
