A friend of mine from Charlotte just called & said Charlotte is so short staffed on the ramp it is unreal. Planes waiting to be loaded. Short of runners to run bags. Bagroom working very short missed bags by the hundreds. WTF is going on in Charlotte & who in the .......is responsible for letting this happen ?

Who do you THINK is responsible?
"Weird Al" Kremlin oversees this aspect
of the operation, but calling him
"responsible" would be a misstatement.
Al Kremlin is NOT a responsible person
per se, as well all know. He should have
been kicked to the curb after the
Christmas fiasco in PHL, but I guess
he must have taken some lessons from
John Gotti and he is the new Teflon
Don.

Lo siento. Lost baggage phone calls are no longer handled by anyone in the U.S. Call us's toll free number and try to reach someone that cares.

Oh ya, btw, they don't do oxygen requests. And if you are calling with less than 24hrs notice for a seat assignment, they well tell you that it can only be done at the airport. If you are calling more than 24hrs in advance, they will be happy to email your "prefered" request to "someone", but you will not be given an actual seat assignment. This info can be found at QRM keyword NXA. In other words, they're one keystroke short of a kiosk machine.

per a memo by Jim Macdonald (ramp manager)

"..as of March 17 we are currently understaffed in CLT by 117 positions."

So much for the promise of these positions being offered to the outsourced utility department that left just this past Monday!

Maybe, Mr. Lakefield has actually made a command decision to put as many people as possible out on severance. As the only return on our sacrifices he can salvage before this company implodes!

After flying through CLT 3 times yesterday, my cockpit cohort started to call the place "Hill Billy Philly".

I think I might agree with him on that.
