CEO of US Airways will spend one day in jail

Do we have to bring this up AGAIN!!!!!

FRIGGIN DROP IT!!!!!

Talk about beating a dead F@#*ing horse.
Exactly .. yes, he's the CEO, but it's his personal life and really does not affect USAirways all that much. Until now, this was largely forgotten by the media after the first day or two. All of my friends & family outside the airline business either didn't know about the incident, or didn't really care.

NO!!!!!

Let's move forward shall we. Living in the past serves no one.

Incredible. You bemoan & bich about a half-can of soda and how this policy affects everyone yet a repeat-offender DUI/CEO is to be treated with kid gloves....

....March 15 -- "beware the Ides of March"

(hey, i'm beginning to type like NHBB)

It was not his personal life, he was representing US Airways as it CEO at the FBR at the US Airways hospitality tent.

He was there as CEO.

I can possibly change the Soda Can situation.

I can't change the laws of the State of Arizona. So I don't get excited about things I cannot change. Perhaps you would do well to review the serenity prayer.

You can also possibly change the CEO of USAir.

This guy has a demonstrated pattern of very poor judgement.

"The CEO's day in jail starts one day after US Airways annual Media Day, during which journalists visit the carrier's headquarters to meet with airline officials."

Should make for some interesting interviews from the press.... :D

Washington Post

Geez, even Monica's blue dress and OJ's glove didn't get this much attention. One guy got blown away and the other got away with murder. Parker is small potatoes in comparison.

The law as written was fairly and equitably applied. Should he volunteer to have his left nut cut off would that make you happy?
How about he promise to stop drinking and driving. Promise to stop risking other peoples lives with his own weakness for booze.
There is no double standard here. Doug or PineyBob would get the same sentence and that is the very principle upon which this country was founded.

You can also argue that DP showed character by pleading guilty and NOT trying to lawyer his way out of the situation.
The double standard everyone is talking about, is the fact that he is the head of a company who would fire a pilot flight attendant or mechanic, who if had done the same thing, and had been as widely reported, would have been sacked. The rules should apply equally to all. If any other employee can drink drive risk others lives, be as reported, then plead guilty to the offense and serve time in jail with no repercussions or record to it on file. Then fine case closed about how its a double standard between management and hourly workers.

As for character, please after drinking and driving, he has no character.

Sorry twice, but as long as the press mentions US, CEO and DoUgIe in the same headline, it is about US and has every right to be posted here.

Your CEO is now a jailbird and has a record.....

What whas the second DUI for and why was it dismissed?

"A second DUI charge and a speeding charge were dismissed"

CNN Money

Parker was not due to appear until Wednesday but the date was moved at the request of his Phoenix attorney.

AZ Central

Sounds like to me that he did in fact get special treatment and out of the eyes of the press.....hummm

How is moving a hearing date a day earlier special treatment? His attorney probably had something else going on the original date.
