Well, its different in other states....im sure you know of the BBQ wars between the states. All BBQ is good, but Texas BBQ is best

I knew this was going the wrong way........
NC is the king of pork, true BBQ and skill is beef. Getting the toughest part to taste the best, beef brisket, is truely an art farm and skill
I like the NC BBQ, but the sauce is a bit vinegary
That being said, start serving it on your flights and market it, it will go a long way to get people thinking good about US. Supporting a home grown food

There is eastern and western style in NC, one is vinegar based and the other is tomato.
And yes NC is the king of pork bbq, the real bbq, not beef!.
Cant do a cow pickin, but you certainly can do a pig pickin!
When were we Piedmont we use to have one in CLT every summer!

You and Piney are going to get us in trouble with all this BBQ talk..........
But beef is best, and i have been to the "pig pickins" in the past......i capitulate, they are good!!! Good food and drink and fun time had by all.

That entire city is overrated, amigo....
Living there was the longest 6 months of my life.
Oh, and just to throw this thread off course a bit, it's where I was living when I became a vegetarian.
As for sauces, the guy I rented a room from was from S.C. (Pawley Island????), and he made a mustard based bbq sauce that was beyond words!

Those Piedmont Company pig pickin's were freakn awesome. I actually agree with 700 along these lines. I'm not much for pork but Carolina is the king of BBG pork and it is awesome. Especially with slaw.
On the other hand, I found IAM functions usually involve cheap beer and raggety a$$ beef at locals, expensive wine and prime beef at conventions [where those that like the bottle & more, and all the true 'good ole boys' attend about 7 weeks a year].
At any rate, I have'nt been keeping up with this but I presume the lack of ticket sales was a result of a local function and the menu probably had more impact on sales than some suggest. Most people don't want to drop some hard earned cash just to suffer by having to sit on the comode all night and then have to drop a dime on a sick day and not get paid.

I would just like to point out that you got bent all out of shape for people talking about hockey on a thread but it's okay for you to talk about bbq on this thread! You are a hypocrite!
