BALLS of STEEL check in

This is so true. The twu has only ONE goal and that is to keep dues flow coming. The twu peddled this failed t/a. If the twu says anything else just ask the Pres. in MIA or better yet look at the colored flyer they put with our ballots. Don't forget the change in language on the ballot itself. The twu tried to intimidate the membership with fear of a possible strike. Yea, let's "negotiate" with the company with the twu as the middle man.

The best part about the twu is that we NEVER get to vote on the international positions they are all APPOINTED.

If you want accountability and democracy in your union then sign an AMP authorization card.

If you like good old boy network and no accountability then print this flyer and place it up at work.

GO AMP!
SHIRLEY, you must be kidding Kenny Mac!
Are you saying that we CAN NOT vote for the highest office in OUR union? WTF
What about the VP and other twu international officers, can I vote for them?
As far as my 652.00 a year in dues, will all of that money be used for AA mechanics and related?
Is the international leaderships pay structure, based on our pay, and IS THEIR a pay structure for staff assistants and secretary's?
Can we do something about this? I still have 15 to 20 years left with this company, and if we keep giving away our benefits and pay, retirement will be out of the question.
This isn't ROCKET SURGERY folks,
Sign an AMP card

First... don't call me Shirley! (LOL)

Second... That is correct the membership DOES NOT get to vote for those in the twu international. Not Don Videtich, Bobby Gless, Gary Drummond, John Conley or Jim Little. (Note: The "Rocket Scientists Gary Yingst and Dennis "hands in pocket" Burchette should be a side bar in that even the int. didn't want them.) These people I mentioned have done what for our craft and class except peddle the company's cries of woe "... fuel is too high... other airlines blah, blah, blah...". Yet when our entire craft and class at AA take a cut in pay and benefits NOT ONE of these unelected individuals took a matching cut. In fact they got huge pay raises while we endured a 5 year... oops... 7 1/2 year (going on 8 years) concessionary contract. Not bad for international officers! They help negotiate contracts that do not effect their personal income or health benefits PLUS they make way more than anyone they "represent" and the kicker is YOU can't vote them out of office.

As for your $625.00 in yearly dues pay the twu uses that money to help pay for these fat cat's salaries AND on other issues that you have no say over. But with AMP your dues money is used FOR you and it is controlled BY you. AMP National Officers, all three as compared to how many in the twu, have their pay tied directly to what they negotiate during contract negotiations. Now that is an incentive/accountability! Plus AMP National Officers have term limits AND they are not only voted on by the full membership but the membership can also remove them from office if they are not doing what they are suppose to do and that is LISTEN to the membership's needs. As for staff assistants for AMP they will not earn what twu staff assistants earn.

By signing an AMP Authorization card we take a step closer to removing the undemocratic and unaccountable actions/constitution of the twu.

Give yourself an early Christmas present and sign an AMP card.

GO AMP!

*****CODE BLUE *BALLS OF STEEL ALERT AND BLACKOUT CANCELED****

For those of you who have signed an AMP card, finish your Christmas shopping, and pick up a little something for yourself, like Vaseline.

For those who have not, it's time to throw away your twu "Fear Manual", anodize your mouse balls, and sign an AMP card.
Once again, this isn't Rocket Surgery.

I'm ready to stand with you at the Bun and cook up another pot of "Jet Roast" along with the TWU "leadership". I might however throw a punk's recliner, ahem... slug-o-lounger out on the ramp. He won't be needing it much longer.

I hope you guys at DFW got some new slug- o- loungers, the ones we acquired from the F/A's lounge for the old "B" section have to be worn out by now.

WOW 652.00 a year in dues.
8 years of nothing but going backwards! I think we should all demand a refund!!
$652 times 8 years means we are all owed $5216.00.
Gee what could we all do with that? Maybe get a new.......
That is chump change to an International sell out!!!!!!!!
    :( :(
D lay......D lay...........D lay!!!!!

The second batch of AMP shirts are in at AFW, still 15.00, but now come in Navy and Black. If you ordered a hoodie, they are also in. Thanks

I can certainly appreciate that you are sick and tired of TWU's bs, especially after those salary figures were released.

I've asked this question before and never gotten a response: what do you all think AMP will be able to do for you that TWU won't? Do you think you'll get a better deal from AA with AMP representation? I'm not pre-judging the answer (as I don't care either way) but am curious.

I don't remember you asking, "what will AMP be able to do, that the twu won't". And since you don't care either way, don't worry about it. None of this concerns you.......or does it? You sure are random, skipping from thread to thread, asking lots of questions about stuff you shouldn't even be concerned with not being an employee. Reminds me of this guy named "E", who does the same thing.

Now this is strange...
Last night and today I had posts mysteriously dissapear. Eolesen encouraged me to go to his website after calling me a coward, then after I post an article HE wrote about AMP, and his Bio., my posts get deleted. Is it because he is also a moderator on this board?

I've been in the travel industry since Ronald Reagan was in office, and am currently working for Amadeus, a global IT provider to travel agencies and suppliers. Prior to joining Amadeus, I spent almost two decades working in various positions for People Express Airlines and American Airlines. I've been an active participant and a moderator on Usenet and web forums such as FlyerTalk.com, PlaneBusiness.com, and AirlineForums.com since the early 1990's.

Huh, that's strange. I wonder why that is? I would think eole would welcome free advertisement for his boring blog unless he had something to hide. Very strange indeed. Sir eole recently stated the rules of the board changed and we could post what we want.

I guess that only applies to some and not others....like former AA Management with his bias showing again.

Yea, it's strange, because the article about AMP in his blog was somewhat positive. I'm wondering if he had a falling out with AA management and supports what we are doing? As far as my posts being deleted, it may be because he doesn't want to be exposed as a moderator? Moderating and posting, is it OK to do both, or is it a double standard?

I noticed that also. There was mention to a certain post number and gave the post number. I backed up, and there was a ton of posts that were missing. I don't remember if it was this trhead or another though.

First of all, the forum's rules are pretty clear "You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by AirlineForums.com"

The copyright notice on my site isn't just for fun. I actually get paid ad revenue for my lame blog when it is picked up by other sites, so when you steal content and post it here, I lose the revenue.

If you want to link to it, have at it. That's within the rules, and I get the ad revenue & related search engine bumps.

Second, no matter how many times you guys try to make it so and to paraphrase Jim, the discussion isn't always about me.

Third, I have no falling out with AMR management. I simply despise the TWU and all it stands for. If they actually behaved like a trade union, perhaps I'd have more respect for them. But they don't. They look out for dues income first, their benefits second, and the members last.

Lastly.... I'm not a moderator here, and have no intention of being one. I willingly gave that up years ago on Plane Business.

Given the ability to participate freely and speak my mind, or to moderate and always having people question the appearance of being able to start a discussion and then cut it off when others don't happen to agree with your point of view, I chose participation. And that hasn't changed.

I would agree with your "copyrighted material" claim, however the material Odie posted was your blog about us, the AMP, the TWu, and another drive to rid ourselves of the worthless TWu and it's unelected International parasites. If it was a post referencing one of your company paid grand world wide excursions or how XYZ Airline has the best fresh strawberries on their first class banana splits that beat all others, or some other nondescript tidbits of travel information we all really need to know before we hop in the limo for the airport.... I could see the point.

One thing I can definitely agree with you on is the worthless corrupt TWu dues collection agency, (that's about it). It's kinda funny you say this really, it's another story with AA Management who seem to just fall all over the TWu with love and affection. You should ask your buds at Centerpork why they fought so hard to keep the TWu in 2005 and lied to the NMB about the numbers in our craft and class during the AMFA drive, (We saw dead people). We would all like to know why the CompAAny cares so much about a union, never seen it before at any other airline. I think we all know the answer (well, some of us), but I just thought maybe you could shed more light on that subject with all your "Big Wheel" connections being you were on the inside of the mAArble pAAlace.

I was wondering something else, as your here on this site morning, noon, and night, how do you get any work done? You have to be extremely bored to constantly comment on that which really doesn't affect you, as you have left AA for the greener blog-us-phere IT travel field of dreams.

Just curious how you can camp out here and still get paid for your day job.
