BALLS of STEEL check in

Oh and the local pres at 567 for the twu is presently incarserated in the TX prison system for the manufacture and delivery of meth and the poss of GHB (the date rape drug).

Thanks for the blast from the past. You forgot the new state law because of Joe dumping the goods in the backyard and killing a dog.

You and I have had this conversation before.

It sounds like your position is that OH should be paid the same as people out on the line since SWA can do it. Hey, more power to you, I applaud your efforts and your views on the value our product with regards to OH. You don’t have to prove it to me or anyone else on this forum. Since the union is the moving party and the company is happy with status quo or less, our negotiating committee has to be prepared to prove what you are saying. Or, can you just bring up the WSJ piece to make your case? If the WSJ can do it, why can’t our own union make the case on every aspect? There is a lot more to the whole picture then a paint job.

So, are you ready to prove it?

You say that you have asked but not given the answer, if your going to rely on the company to tell you how much it costs, then you are beaten already. If they move their lips they are lying. We the membership have the right to demand our negotiating committee do what it takes to win for us a fair and equitable agreement.

Are you people doing that?

No what I'm saying is they are airline workers not MRO workers and the claim that they should be willing to settle for MRO rates is false. False because they are not MRO workers and false because we do not have to settle for those wages.

We dont have to prove we can do it for less in order to demand more, the only thing we have to prove is that if they dont give us what we need we will remove our labor and they wont be able to operate. Then it will be up to the company to prove that they can. If they could then the NMB would have released us last March.

This is when the Balls of Steel kick in. Sure would like to get out of the back pocket of the company, not going to happen with the twu.

Happy New Year !!!!

I'm no fan of the TWU but the real "balls of steel" would be dumping them and going like the guys at Delta - no thieves in our pocket AT ALL.

<_< ------ In an "ideal world", that would be great! But guess what? ---- The simple fact is that AA's management ain't Delta's!

<_< ------- For something like that to happen, there has to be an element of trust between employee, and employer! And with the track record of AA's currant Management team, I just realistically don't see that happening!!!

Delta pays their mechanics just enough over the union average so they don't organize, we are stuck with this union and AA prefers it that way. Time for a change though! Go AMP!

AA's currant Management team

Did AA start up a berry processing subsidiary? ;)

Something tells me that if AA's mechanics actually decertified, management would probably be bending over backward to keep it that way.

What management did/didn't do while bound by a CBA pretty much becomes a moot point.

The sooner you guys start looking out the front window and ignoring the rear view mirror, the better off you'll be.

It's more akin to a mushroom subsidiary...you know, shovel heaps of B.S. while keeping the lights out.

I've asked you this before, why your friends at Centerpork "bent over backwards" in keeping the TWu during 2005, in that AA massively inflated the numbers to the NMB. Hard question I'm sure, but with all your inside informAAtion, you might be able some light on it for the mere "laymen".

Management side-steps the TWu CBA as they see fit, it has so many holes in it. One of the weakest in the industry.

The sooner we forget about the past, is the sooner Bernie Madoff starts up a new Wall Street investment firm. Good luck with that.

Don't know why you would assume that. AA would screw us beyond belief.
We are not management and never will be!
We will never decertify a union altogether. Just dump the TWU in exhange for a more worthwhile union!

<_< ------ There you go Eric! Reality check here!------ Without trust, decertification will never happen. At least not voluntarily! ------ Trust has to be earned, and that's the problem here with both the AA management team, and the TWU!

Usually I trash the twu express, but for some strange reason I put it in my lunchbox and read it at work. Oddly enough, on page 4, there is a list of the international directors, and Tonya Gordon (rumored Joe's daughter), is a Managing Director of Organizational Development. I then began reading about the 10 year deal the twu hammered out for the casino dealers, thumbed to the back, and scanned over Joe Gordons's (Tonya's Dad) article on protecting social security. I liked the pictures of the trains and busses but, I should have trashed it because now I'm nauseous.
