Did you not see it?
Its about over a $3 to $4 raise over the life of the contract, plus retro pay.
You dont have a full say in a 401k either, you only can choose from the options offered in the plan, not everything in the world.
And a 401k is your own money from your check, a DBP isnt.
And how did those 401ks do in the stock market downturn?
I read the IAM141 - UAL Tentative Agreement highlights, looks pretty good to me.
Looks weak on scope a lot of city’s not mention
Lots of cities that can go by the wayside in 2016, and some of them have a lot of Mainline activity.
so that 80 dollars paid by the company to the IAMNPF is what ? not my money ? then why is the company paying it ?? the union negoatied it right ? much like they might a company match via 401K ...
you know i'd much rather lose money in the 401K because at least I have SOME say so over the matter and some control vs having NO control and NO say so with the IAM pension ... the very nature of the IAM pension is a Ponzi scheme .... without new members it WILL fail ... and when it DOES fail , you'll end up getting less and less as the Pension management constantly cut the size of checks they send out to the people drawing pensions ... everyone will take a cut together ... and it won't matter what you were promised by the pension fund long long ago because the law will back up their cutting your pension check someday , not to mention good luck finding someone to sue for selling you a pipe dream pension ... the guys who run the pension , I bet they all have 401K's ... and when the bottom drops out on ours , good luck touching them , the law will protect them and hold them blameless for all that befalls the IAM pension .
Enough.
You don't like the IAM pension. We get it, and that's certainly fine. At least know what you're talking about, though...
That's the same guy who voted himself a raise while letting the company outsource many outstations.
I just read our contract AND united's and it's WORSE than I thought , I see the company pays a dollar an hour to the IAMNPF for us ... so if you work 40 a week , that's 80 dollars a pay period for us bi-weekly US air people .... which means the company pays 160 dollars a month to the IAMNPF .....He can know what he is talking about. He hasn't read his contract and digested it.
The Company is obligated to contribute at the agreed rate and does not guarantee that agreed rate will provide the current benefit.
and guess what , UNITED doesn't have the IAMNPF anywhere in their contract ...
And you certainly dont know how to read a highlight sheet, per the sheet:I just read our contract AND united's and it's WORSE than I thought , I see the company pays a dollar an hour to the IAMNPF for us ... so if you work 40 a week , that's 80 dollars a pay period for us bi-weekly US air people .... which means the company pays 160 dollars a month to the IAMNPF .....
